Magazine Delivery...
Posted by papi62596 on Friday, September 3, 2004 1:37 AM
i've subscribed to SAE for years and wonder why it takes so long for me to get my issues in the mail. The hobby store seem to get them well before
I do. I have friends that also got them and they have the same complaint. Another question I have is why dont they come covered in plastic anymore? I live in Ohio and hate getting magazines that have been in the rain (postman's bag) or snow. The worst thing is getting an issue that's ruined before you have a chance to peel the cover open.....Well I'm done venting but would like to see if I am one of the only ones with this problem.

We can't control what happens to the magazines after they leave the printer; delivery is a function of how the post office distributes and routes the copies after that. Generally the last copies are mailed roughly 10 days before the on-sale date at the newsstands. If the place you buy from puts its copies out early, that can add to the perception that home-delivered copies are "late."

Polybagging copies is quite expensive, and the cost to bag is much greater than replacing a few (and it is a low percentage) copies that are damaged in shipment. Remember, if your issue is damaged in shipment, contact Kalmbach Customer Service at (800) 533-6644 and you'll get a replacement.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll have to do that in the future.
