Anyone else getting bogged down here?
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 16, 2004 12:15 PM
Anyone else having problems getting pages to load lately here? My high speed cable modem connection slows down to cold molasses when I surf this site. I have checked my firewall, IE settings, ad-blocker, etc, but none of that stuff seems to be hogging up new pages from loading.

Thanks.

I'm using dial-up with an old, slow computer and have not experienced any trouble or slowness in pages loading.
You may want to contact your provider about this and see what they say.

Sounds like you have some unwanted spyware.
AdAware and Spybot have both worked well for me.
You can find downloads for either by doing a search on google

Thanks Dag. I run both of those all the time. Even defrag'ed the HD. Turned off a bunch of stuff under Services but this site is still the worst of late. Back to the drawing board.

I notice some days, and times are better than others. Don't ask me to explain why, I'm probably the worst computer literate person here. I can turn it on, and turn it off. PERIOD!

Just wait until you have to be "removed from the forum" because no matter how you try you cannot get in. I could not get for several days to respond to the forums. . .for no reason what so ever! I finally had to have my name erased and start all over.
