WHEN CAN WE HAVE OUR OWN SLOT
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, November 22, 2003 11:21 AM
SoapBox
YOU KNOW AS WELL AS I DO THAT THERE IS AN UNLIMITED SOURCE OF MODEL BUILDERS OUT THERE,FROM NASCAR,MOTORCYCLES,RODS,TRUCKS,PLANES,TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES,JUST TO NAME A FEW,BUT IN MY LITTLE WORLD OR NITCH OF THIS HOBBY THERE ARE AN UPCOMING NUMBER OF BUILDERS.YOU ASK WHO THEY ARE?THEY ARE THE EMERGENCY TRUCK BUILDERS ie;
FIRE APPARATUS,OUR MARKET SHARE IS VERY SMALL,WITH ABOUT 2% AVAILABLE IN KIT FORM,THE REST IS SCRATCH BUILT.WE ARE A SPECIALTY GROUP,AND THIS I THINK SCHOULD DESERVE ITS OWN TOPIC FORUM,NOT HUDDLED IN WITH MASS' OF AUTO,TRUCK SLOTConfusedSO NOW THAT I HAVE PUT MY My 2 centsIN TO THE MIX OF THINGS IM DONE VENTING.
SO THANKS FOR THE TIME

Mike,

First of all, turn off Caps Lock and don't shout!

If we get enough people together who want a separate forum, we'll consider it. But we don't want 357 different forums with only a few people in each one. Why don't you look at it as a chance to share your specialty with more people, and maybe get more people interested?

To bring up this issue,again, I would like to add that I, too, would like to see a forum dedicated to emergency vehicles, or some similar category. These just don't quite fit into the forums currently in place, in my opion, anyway. Smile
I married my wife for her looks, just not the ones she gives me when I bring home new model kits.

Although, I, personally do not build these vehicles - I simply don't have the talent, or experience, for scratchbuilding - I think that any group, however small, that honors our nation's firefighters deserves to have their own forum.

i think a seperate spot for E- vihicles is an excellent idea ..it really is a specialty worthy of its own place ..i bet more people would build these vehicles if they just had help (me WAY included)and a" one stop shopping " type of place would work!!!Well again,just my My 2 centsMy 2 cents

I think that a truck/light commersial forum covers this segment well enough. Too many forums and they will all drown in the crowd. Personally I think that Hot Rods and Street Machines are different enough to separate them, but I do understand the need to keep the number of cathegories to a tidy number.My 2 centsSmile
