How about an "In-progress" forum?
Posted by scalespeedworks on Wednesday, November 12, 2003 10:32 AM
Personally I don't care much about big rigs or factory stock, but I do like to see them being built because I'm sure we can all learn from each other, regardless of building preference. I believe a forum where we could all see how a project is progressing would be beneficial to everybody.

That's what I think. What's everyone else think about this?

Sign - Ditto I second this motion!

Would be nice to see some in progress shots with maybe the person posting giving a run down on the kit and how the builds going! Would be nice to see about others work and see how there doing things....because so much more gets done than what actually makes it into SAE(that wasnt a slight agains the mag, we all know your working with very limited time and space).

HEY,
I also agree. It would bring all of the forums together and unite them and would also make it easier to look for pics of finished models.

We're giving this some serious thought, and we are definitely going to have some Web-only features and projects.

Keep in mind that what you see here is only the first phase of this site's functionality. As we get time and resources, it will expand. Hang in there, be patient, and you'll see it happen. With an editorial staff of two full-time and one part-time persons, it isn't easy to get and keep the site going and do the print magazine too. But we made the commtiment, and we're going to do it!

I agree too... also since under one heading in separate forum area possibly could list for example
Manufacturer and kit # so everyone using that particular kit would post under same thread....perhaps combining certain ones of same body type like

AMT's 55 & 57 stepsides in same thread... or

AMT's 55, 56, and 57 belairs in dame thread etc???

this would allow us to show how we solved minor glitches in kits too... I did a lot of final minor adjustment to the hood to fender fitment to improve my finished 57 stepside... still working slowly (been working on it since last July)... I'm picky...LOl

I'm all for it! Just today I sent an email to Mojo and mentioned I like looking at in-progress pics as much or more than looking at the finished model. (No surprise - I probably have more 'projects' than finished kits. Big Smile)
