How long does it take for you to post pictures in the gallery? It says wait 24 hours for your picture to be uploaded sometimes it takes a day, other times two weeks. What's up with that? I really enjoy seeing other people's finished models, it's also pretty cool to see your own models online and get the feedback from other modelers.

It's all dependent on time available, the staff has to wear many "Hats" these days.Cutting staff meant having to multi-task more & focus on deadlines for the next issue......So it seems ?????

"Taking a short hiatus from building models....... Projects/Work around the house.....It's riding weather.....Get in the Wind & down the Hwy....."

I posted one pic to the gallery , it got two comments . Then I discovered the forum gets more attention. Seems the gallery could be done away with and more focus of the limited time the mods have to the forums would be beneficial . Of course this is my unprofessional , unsolicited opinion ....

"rare" kit? no such thing!

build it, dont let it sit on the shelf.....

you cant take it with you, hearses dont have luggage racks......

The purpose of the gallery is to showcase finished models, and the purpose of the forum is to discuss the builds during the various stages of construction as well as the finished product. If your only reason for uploading pictures to the gallery is for "comments" then your missing the point.

No, but i equate the comments to the amount of views the photo has received . Hence why the forum seems a better place . I look At finished builds on the forums . I never go to the gallery .... It's a waste , again , in my opinion ..

This is spot-on. The gallery and updating it is a daily priority of mine but there are times where it does get bumped to the lower end of my list if we need to focus on the actual next issue of the magazine. What also makes updating the gallery take much longer and more effor than need to be, is when users submit photos and text that are not deemed right or well for the site.

For example, the following things I've been noticing when viewing, approving, and then posting each submitted photo to our gallery, that I have to routinely fix and takes up time are:

-not spelling words or brand names correctly, like "Testers" instead of Testors, "NaScAAR" instead of NASCAR, "Camero" instead of "Camaro"

-grammar issues, "i put set tires wheels custom paint on she look good" instead of "I added custom wheels and tires, finished the model with a ___ paint job to make it shine"

-lack of any kind of punctuation

-all CAPS

-photos that are dark or upside-down (this requires me to download the photo, open it up in photoshop, then edit, then re-post it on the site. This takes time.)

-50 photos of the same car (I will only post/allow one maybe two photos of the same car)

Yes it's easy to upload a photo of your build to our gallery and we do want to see them and show them off to the world, but if some common writing deceny and time was spent on writing a quality, not broken English with wrong spellings and slang, along with photos that are uploaded the right way/orientation....that would allow me to get these galleries updated much quicker.

For example here are a couple recent errors, I have to take time away from working on our June 2018 issue, to fix:

"Here is the 400 Magnum. In my 1/1 Charger. That I had in my twenties."
I will now have to re-write as:

"Here is the 400 Magnum that was in my 1:1 Dodge Charger I had when i was in my twenties."

"1951 Chevey road rally"

Now I need to go and re-write the actual title of the photo because Chevy is spelled wrong.

"Box stock, except 4 the rims and tires. Testors spray can paint job."

Come on folks, use "for" instead of 4.

Make sense?
