No one else feels the need for off topics post? No politics or religion.

But say for instance.

Some new cars are nice looking and all. But they all fail to have the beauty of tons of chrome. And the old bumpers and grills. I know many factors come into play, weight and saftey anf fuel economy. But seriously nothing is as nice looking as an old late 40s or early 50s front ends. Massive and chrome.

The forum had an 'Off Topic' section once upon a time, but it wasn't consistent with our hosts' core business so it was removed. Ditto the 1:1 car section that used to be a part of this forum.

Thanks Bainford. A 1:1 topic area would be great. Any other votes?

There's another forum that has an "off topic" section, however this is a model car forum and I really don't see the need for it.

We could post of our 1:1s. Or post pics of actual cars that gave us inspiration.  Many reasons for off topic.

I agree!

The motto of this forum is "building better model cars", and an "Off  Topic" section goes against that.  I believe there was an "Off Topic" section here at one time and there were many disagreements which required much extra work just to keep that section under control.  It was removed some years ago when the forum was revamped.  While there are those who have good intentions for such a section, I cannot see it as a viable or valuable asset to the forum itself.
