motorcycles?
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, November 09, 2003 10:29 AM
Over at the 'Other' forum several modelers are lamenting the fact that building motorcycles are being tossed into the catch-all 'Other' category. Just wondering if the 'cycle builders deserve/warrant their own 'Motorcycle' forum?

I build mostly autos, but I have three finished motorcycles in my collection.

HEY,
I have never built a bike but i think tht they deserve a forum seeing as they dont have anywhere else to go.

I agree that motorcycles should have a separate forum. Whether it be cars, trucks, boats (of the high-performance persuasion), or motorcycles, automotive guys pretty much have an interest in it all. The majority of my building has been cars or tucks, but of late, I've been more interested in bikes. I've also had the urge to build aT/F hydro, but in either one of these subjects, it would be hard (and somewhat dissapointing) to have to look in the "other" section to find fellow modelers with the same interests.

Just my thoughtsSmile

Here's another vote for a motorcycle forum. I would love to see a forum dedicated to them. There are more and more motorcycles showing up at contests now so the interest must be growing. I was a dedicated aircraft modeler for over 30 years but after doing a motorcycle a few months ago, I am hooked on them. There are so many great kits out there, and most are so well detailed OOB you can make a great model with little extra work. They also have room for the detailers that like to do all of the little extras that make for a super looking model. With the sudden surge in motorcycle shows on TV now, there are going to be more and more guys and girls trying to make their own custom choppers I think. Enough ranting, I hope someone sees this and is having the kind of day I used to wait for my dad to have before asking for something I really wanted. :)

Hi guys -

I build a LOT of bikes, and I would love to see some bike discussion here. There is a Yahoo group dedicted to motorcycle modeling if this one doesn't fill your need for bike talk. I think that we can start our own threads right here, though!

...and I just finished a Suzuki GSX 750 Katana a couple of weeks ago and should have a Ducati 916 arriving from Hong Kong any day now (dirt cheap...).
Allthough I dont usually build bikes it would be nice with a forum..

Well one way to get a 'motorcycle' forum is to keep 'talking' back and forth on the 'Other' forum! Make that forum so exciting, so cool (sorry if I'm using the wrong slang) that the administrators will have no choice but to give 'motorcycles' their own forum!

Just a thought!

And here's another vote for a motorcycle forum. As soon as I can figure out why my computer won't recognize my scanner, I'll be posting my models both two and four wheeled! My digital camera is embarassingly outdated. Hear that Santa?!
