Have the changes been installed? I tried a Search and got 0 Results for a known topic.

The days not over yet. Could be late tonight before the changes are set in place. There's also the preverbial  "Murphys Law" that sneeks in and extends things a bit Super Angry

I'm looking forward to the changes. Should be fun to see what new "Tech" toys we may have to play with Cool.

I love Mecum Auctions and Barrett/Jackson auctions and what would I do without Ebay.

Well, the changes have been incorporated and things look nice.

I don't see any Search function, however, and Jim Haught indicated the Search would be enhanced.

Now, when I click on "My Discussions" all I see is threads which I have started. None of the other threads I've made posts in are in the list. Anyone know how to change that?

There's a magnifying glass next to the word "SHOP" at the top of the page.

Probably gonna be like eating an elephant - One bite at a time Laugh

Tried the "Search function" using the spy glass, but got nothin - guess it's time for "another bite" Bang Head.

I tried that magnifying glass too...it appears to be searching within the magazine articles, not posts on this site.

Why does clicking on a new topic cause the last message to be displayed instead of the first? Is this something we can "adjust"? I've only been on here for a few minutes so maybe I missed something.

There used to be a personal option of "Latest Post" vs "Oldest Post" as far as display.

I'll guess the folks that brought about the latest changes will let (hopefully) us know.

I'm STILL waiting for the new and improved Search function.

Question

BigTallDad

I'm STILL waiting for the new and improved Search function.

All I get in my searchs are magazine articles. Does this mean we have to manually search out threads from the past page by page QuestionQuestion

I love Mecum Auctions and Barrett/Jackson auctions and what would I do without Ebay.

I'm thrilled that the forsaken magazine subscription pop & Facebook pop up are gone. I hope it stays that way.

In regards to search:

Search results for forum topics should improve over the next couple of days. With the update, posts need to be indexed into the search again. This can take some time due to the activity and number of posts in the forum.

My past conversations are gone, I hope those come back. And would it have killed you to add a "like" button? I don't always have something clever and funny to say, but it would be nice to let someone know that I appreciate their effort without having to do all of this typing!

A quick way to speed up the indexing effort would be to ignore Responses and focus only on the original post. In past versions, I always included -re as part of the search criteria. This resulted in only the original post being displayed.

Another method to speed up the effort (as well as improving the overall quality of the search process itself) would be ignoring any occurrence of the search criteria in the text of the post.

My photos used to enlarge when they were clicked. Doesn't seem to work in the new format.

Also, there is no edit or reply to my first post on the new format about 10 minuts ago.. Does that take some time to activate?

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.

I had no trouble logging in, but the log out button doesn't seem to work. Each time I click on the log out button I get a 404 error message. ???

I guess mine was on the second page but the post was on the first page.  Somebody responded to the post so I guess I post a response and see if the edit button is there now that I am on the second page.

Out of idle curiosity, has the spell-check function been restored? I don't think it has.

Have a new bug. The site doesn't want to play with Google Chrome. I keep getting " Server Error in '/' application.

It was fine yesterday. I have cleared my cookies and still no luck.

I'm using Safari right now and no issues..

On the right end of the black bar above each category is an EDIT button. Click the EDIT and the field opens for changes. (I just did it so it does work).

It's actually part of the black bar at the right end. Is it possible that you have magnified or enlarged the screen over 100%? I tried that and I can't see the right end of the bar. Just a thought.

Thanks again....FYI      This was my problem, for the previous Scale Auto Forum, I had their website listed on my "Tools" Compatibily View Setting. for Internet Explorer. I just removed Scale Auto from this compatibilty setting and now I get all the forum controls.......

Hope this will help anyone with a similiar problem like mine........Big Smile
