Hey SA staffers,

Have you thought about selling T-shirts,apparel,mugs? Maybe with the SA logo and some FINE graphics of  Brad Leisure's/Jarius Watson's artwork........Or some of the really cool box art that was used years ago?

I'd like to see an annual wall calendar, with maybe "Readers Choice" top 12 of the different genres of scale autos and trucks represented........Just a thought! THANKS!! JohnZ

I'm in the middle of a BIG move....From Corpus Christi TX to Tucson AZ.

NO building for awhile, til I set up my shop again !!

Many years ago Scale Auto Enthusiasts offered items like you described. As for calendars, the "other mag" offered them for awhile and I guess they didn't sell well enough to continue them.

I probably would never buy a shirt/mug/etc.

I suspect there would be more concern regarding magazine sales (which are recurring) as opposed to mugs etc. (which are one-time).

I know I'd buy at least two SAE calendars a year for my cork boards..  Do it now, yearly..  And go through a couple mouse pads the same way!  But of course, they should be cost effective, not pure money makers..  Maybe that's what hindered sales?????t

It cost money to make this stuff, stock it, sell it, and ship it. Kalmbach Publishing is in the magazine printing business. Don't look for anything soon.........................

How about a silk screened xacto knife or straight edge? something hobby related. A calendar would not be cool, as I'm always behind on my builds.

Most of us are behind on our builds Mike, however Scale Auto won't be offering any "swag" items for sale as far as I can see. ONLY magazines.

Ok,maybe not tee shirts/mug/etc Big Tall Dad..But howabout 1/24th scale genuine SAE decals?A long time ago,I fouund a 1/24th scale, water slide SAE decal sheet @ a garage sale, inside of a model that I had just bought. The box was NOT sealed,so someone must of thrown them in there..The sheet was in great condition. No wrinkles,or rips.I put it away, until 3 years later, when I was going to use them on a model I had been building. So I take my "Mint" condition decals.I got my nice luke-warm water already to go.So I dropped it into the warm water.Made sure the decal got covered in water 100%.About 30 seconds go by.I got the surface all ready,I go to look down @ the sheet. And as I do,I watch my new SAE decals just completely disintegrate before my eyes. They just de solved into my water..Yea,so Not a good day, that one was.But if anyone from the company actually reads this,(attention JimH),I would like to see if people can buy brand new SAE decals through the magazines.Ive seen others, they're out there. They are devided in different sizes.Actually,I think they were a cut out sheet, that was included with a copy of whatever date that issue was..
Thanx for a great site guys.Much Better than watching TV.Ha

Prom Mod Nova, the decals were for the 20th anniversary of SAE and were #20. If I remember right, they had a contest and prizes for models built using the decals.
