April Issue April Fool's Joke?
Posted by chucky on Friday, March 09, 2012 10:21 PM

I thoroughly enjoyed the April issue including Clay Kemp's build of the Ross Gibson 440 Mopar engine. While I'm assuming that the starter motor got painted something other than blue (can't really tell  in the final photo), the power steering belt is perfectly positioned to spin the oil filter right off the engine on startupWink. (I realize that Gibson cast the front of the engine this way: maybe the pump can be cut away and re-positioned a little higher? Or simpler yet, cut the oil filter off, shorten it and re-attach it. Mopar does use both long and short filters.)  No intent to offend here: just disappointed to have such a casting error on a such a pricey product. (I have several Ross Gibson engines myself).
