TV and Movie Build Sub-Section?
Posted by SupernovaSS on Thursday, January 5, 2012 6:42 PM

This hit me earlier today:  How about a new sub-category in the Modeling Subject part of the forum called 'TV and Movie Builds'?  For well, you know.  TV and Movie inspired builds say, like Dukes O' Hazzard, Batman, Fast and Furious etc. Smile, Wink & Grin

Rosco: "My, my. What a horrendous crash. Another one of my vehicle's scuffed."

On the drawing board:  '68 Caddy Deville

On the bench: Monogram USS Voyager NCC-74656 Whistling

Completed recently: '68 Dart GTS

I agree. I prefer to build t.v./movie cars. More of a challenge to do research,photos,etc....make 'em look as close as possible. I've built both munsters, bandit's t/a,roscoe's cop car, original '66 batmobile,Elvira's thunderbird. Working on general lee and daisy's jeep. Soon to try "snowmans" rig and sheriff "buford t justice" cop car. Others in mind but havn't found them yet.GREAT IDEA!

Might be a good idea. There seems to be plenty of interest, and with a whole section, you wouldn't have to work to some "director's" arbitrary rules and deadlines on a CBP. I like it!

II agree!!! I don't build tv/movie cars but they are cool. Like Snake said, you won't be restricted to a CBP,& you can post anytime you want.

Sounds like a good idea. For those of you who don't already have this site, take a look...

While we're at it...if the new section gets added, let's do a few more trivial things with Human Engineering in mind:

1.  At the very top of the page (in the red-background area) there is a SEARCH function. Re-label that to read MAGAZINE SEARCH.

2.  Move the Forum Search from the current obscure location (buried in adds 'n such on the right) to the very top of all the sections and label it Forum Search.

3.  Move the New Members, New Releases, and Builder's Corner box and place it below the Did They Ever Make and Where Can I get box.

By doing the above, Newbies will have the opportunity to see all of the categories first and will not be encouraged to place their post in the first sort-of-appropriate category they see (which is usually the Builders Corner category). This will probably cut down on the "How can I strip paint" posts which seem to appear everywhere.

Even if the proposed TV/Movie Build sectiondoesn't get added, the above suggestions should be considered.

I agree with the above posters. A movie related sub-section would be very very nice. I´m one of the folks that prefer to build movie cars and it would be great to have all the stuff in one place.
