More "Subscriber Extras"??
Posted by mustangmuscle on Saturday, April 2, 2011 3:19 AM

I am glad to see that SA is moving along with the digital trend pretty well, in particular with the video (at least it's a start!) and the"subscriber extras" sections of the website.

Now, what about expanding the digital contents offered to subscribers? Like high resolution pictures of models showcased in the paper issue (under several angles possibly?). It would also be very nice to see short videos demonstrating the techniques used by the article authors (like airbrushing the car body, glueing critical assemblies, and other interesting steps in a model assembly). I see on this forum that some questions are always coming back (especially about airbrushing, like what paint, what pressure), I believe a few videos would really help.

It's about time and budget. You must remember that our Editorial staff is one full-time and one part-time person. There's no budget for anyone else, so we do what we can ourselves. With six issues to produce, plus an annual, premium, a Web site to maintain and moderate, plus travel to 6-8 shows a year, there's not a lot of free time. We do what we can.

IMHO Kalmbach should give serious consideration to increasing both your pay and your staff. It should be obvious how many modelers are interested,( In politics they figure for every one person who calls a public official represents appx. 20 others who didn't), so they can do the math. I do agree that with subscriptions we should get more than those who just "browse" without getting involved. I am not complaining, mind you, because I think you guys do a remarkable job and Jenny especially is so helpful in so many ways and I believe possibly stretched way to thin. Whoa, got to take a breath. You guys are great. We always want more but wouldn't dream of complaining ABOUT you, just to you!
