IT needs to do something. I still think it's someone with a grudge perhaps from another forum.

That would explain why issue 206 is "late" ....

Myself and Robby were both locked out of the forums for an extended period . I haven’t talked to him to see if he regained access .

I come here twice a day to clean up , not even getting to post on my own stuff . I wedge that in when I can . I don’t have the power to remove someone for obvious spam , that’s something I’ll mention in my email later today .

Understand the forum is secondary to the magazine and he has other obligations to make deadlines . I do this as a courtesy to the forum and magazine I so dearly care about, and of course for you , the modeling members here . It’s a LOT better than it was just 6 months ago , and there’s still progress to make . But understand , we do our best and there will let certainly be improvements made ....

Seems like it comes in spurts,  For awhile there it was as many as 8-10 per day, then for some reason it went away.  Now it seems to be back on the rise again.  However, I do truly appreciate what is being done by Dale to curb the spam as much as possible.

Dale will be busy tonight. I just reported 148 spam posts this morning, and the posts of two fellow members who have quoted spam links. This is our worst infestation yet.

For those of you who can't seem to resist the urge to reply to or about these jerks, you're just making Dale's job harder. Knock it off please. You feel the need to reply and now Dale has to contend with the spam AND your post so, knock it off. It only wastes your time making a post that's to be deleted asap.

Telling Dale Gribble about cockroaches. I know it probably wasn't meant to be, but if you think about it that's funny right there! ;) (And frighteningly accurate)

Good one on the roaches!

I got got the last 4 days worth of reports caught up ... my Y32 should arrive on the carrier tomorrow evening and the scale version in a couple weeks .... bought a couple snap kits for my upcoming train trip , they are a great way to relax while watching the scenery pass by ...

it’s my understanding there’s some things in the works for spam prevention .... we shall see ...

Hello!

I just wanted to let you guys know that all first posts from new members of the forum will be moderated. We've put this safeguard in place to cut down on the amount of SPAM getting into the forum. We'll continue to work to eliminate the spam that's already gotten through.

This also means that first-time posts can see up to a delay of 24 hours before being released to the forum. However, that delay I think is worth making sure that we keep the forum clear of SPAM.

Again, thanks to all of you for supporting Scale Auto and helping build this community. We appreciate it.

Thanks Tim, this is good news. It will be mildly painful for new members and I regret that, but the spam must stop. I believe this is a very good step in that direction.

In the Community Announcements board there are approximately 5 pages of spam posts. If you scroll halfway down on page 1 you'll find the next 5 pages of posts made by Amelia Christian and sumandesai. All of these are junk posts.

You might see the name listed as the last person to post in those, but the posts should all be gone.
