Regarding Images in Posts
Posted by Admin on Monday, October 13, 2003 12:25 PM
Please only post images which are relevant to the discussion at hand and appropriate for any audience. There could be children reading these forums so we would like to keep the discussions clean. So please don't post images which could be deemed offensive, violent or pornographic in nature. Images, or posts for that matter, which are deemed inappropriate will be removed without notice.

OK, how do I attach images to the posts? Is there an upload option?

The instructions are in the FAQ area, there doesn't appear to be an upload option - the image you want to display will need to be on the web somewhere with it's own unique url. Just follow the instructions in the FAQ or holler if you need more help.

Ok when posting an image the photo needs to be on the web already hosted. Then you right click on the image and go to properties. Once there you will see a URL listing Copy that URL exactly then place it between the image brackets you read about in the FAQ and paste it be sure not to leave any spaces. Also dont Copy and paste the URL from your Browser as that will only link the page the photo is on but not the actual image.

Apparently, you can't link that image you're tying to post.

Posting images here should be the same as most other forums.
There are certain sties that don't allow linking, and I'd say the one above is that case.

Not sure if this is off-topic or not, but what are the rules in regards to trademarked or copyrighted images being posted in the forums? Thanks in advance for your response/ or pointing me in the right direction for the answer to my question.

The short answer is, don't do it.

There are variables, but in general, if you don't have pubishing rights, don't reproduce images.

We just had to ask a member to remove Sketchpad images he had posted in a personal account; prtoblem there is, not only does he not have rights to do that, we don't either! Much of that artwork is paid for on a one-time-rights basis; after that, it's the owner's again.
