Posting of Advertisements
Posted by Admin on Monday, October 13, 2003 12:24 PM
Posting of advertisements is not permitted in the forums. If you have products/services you would like to advertise, there is an opportunity to purchase ads on scaleautomag.com and/or Scale Auto Magazine. Some exceptions that may be permitted are:

  • Members looking for specific products or accessories - If your store/business carries the specific product another member is looking for, a reply with a link or information on how you can be contacted would be permitted.

  • If you're posting an introduction in the Welcome - Introduce Yourself forum, it would be acceptable if you posted some information about your company, products and/or services - within reasonable limits (of course).

  • As an active member of the forum, helping out other members, it would be acceptable to provide a link back to your website within your signature.

would it be allowed to post a notice of a sale at one of
your regular suppliers in the announcements section
if you think others would be interested?
just thinking ahead.

Well, it's kind of a sticky subject. If it's a generic "heads up" about a sale or something like that, then it's typically going to be okay. What we don't want happening is Joe Schmoe from ACME Hobby coming on here under an alias and saying, "Oh, by the way, ACME Hobby is having a HUGE blowout sale, with 70%-80% off our ENTIRE line up."

If it's a, "Hey, ACME hobbies is having a sale, you might want to check it out," then that's usually okay. It'll be a discretionary thing, though. This isn't a place for ads, but a heads-up will most likely be okay.

Well of course, because this is the Scale Auto site. NOT ANYONE ELSE'S. I understand clearly.

diamond, I dont think anyone has a problem with that. The`re just trying to keep commercial busnesses from posting ads....here is a thread just for those of us with trades.......http://www.scaleautomag.com/sca/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=570
And welcome to the forum!Sign - Welcome

I went to a "gentleman's club" because the sign said they had all the hottest models. I thought it was a hobby shop. Man, was I ever disappointed.

Would it be OK to post a service for sale, I do not have a shop or a website. I have a hobby that I would like to offer my services to members. It is model related.
I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.
