Forum etiquette??
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 6, 2004 3:50 PM
What is the proper way to respond to someone if you have an item that they may be looking for?

For example - someone posts in the "did they ever make" section about a certain model and you happen to have that particular item and would be willing to sell it. Is it OK to answer in that thread or should you e-mail them?

Tnx - GT

I would email them as they are trying to cut back on the "ad's" going on here, but you could post in the thread.....Email Sent regarding item your looking for.

But thats just me, and how I would do it.

Hope this helps.

Sign - Ditto I see no problem with that. As long as the person has their e-mail address available. Smile

historyinscale and kevlar86 are both correct. It is okay to respond by saying, "E-mail sent" or, "I may have what you're looking for. I'll E-mail you."

The key is to bring it to E-mail so we don't get a bunch of posts saying, "I've got what you want. $14 sound good?" "What's your address?" "Can you come down in price?"

…and so on and so fourth.
