well i just got around to posting some more pics of my 40 ford rat rod. i made some progress in the last few  days (most of it on the body). i was able to bondo up thi splits in the roof from the chopped top. the frame got painted flat black. i would like to give a big thanks to the man who is workin on the "checkered past impala" (sorry, i forgot your user name). his rusting technics are amazing. i used the same process on my car that he shows how o do in his thread. if you have not checked out the impala diorama yet, you should give it a look, very impesive work. as you can see in the pics i have not painted the rims yet eny ideas would be greatly appreciated.

like i said the rims r not painted yet

custom built front suspension

painted frame

the body was first painted brown then i hair sprayed it and put on a coat of flat black. went the paint drys you can wet sand the black with a fine grit scotch pad. the paint wil flake of and show the brown underneith it. i then repeited the process with yellow over both and this is the result.

Hi Moparmaniac2,

Stopped by to check out your build after your suggestion on my "barn find" thread.  Awesome job so far, man.  I like the scratchbuilt frame especially the working rear.  Keep up the great work.  I'll be checking back.

Rat Rod build ends NEVER!

Um, this is my first community build so please yell at me if I'm doing something wrong. The build is just to see what you can come up with. There are no prizes, just the experience of building something COOL! The car must be pre-1960. You can enter whenever and complete whenever. Just post the name or a pic the car you want to build. You can enter as many models as you like. You can scratchbuild anything. Good luck building!
