Monogram/Revell 1/24th '69-'71 Mopar Muscle Car Build Off, Anyone?
Posted by In_The_Pink on Sunday, February 1, 2009 8:38 PM

I'm about to start on the Monogram 1/24th '70 GTX kit and thought I'd ask if anyone wants to do a Community Build Project based on any of the Monogram-based 1/24th scale '69-'71 (Dodge & Plymouth muscle car kits.

Eligible kits would include: '69 Dodge Coronet Super Bee, '70 Dodge Challenger T/A, '70 Plymouth AAR 'cuda, '70 Plymouth GTX, '70 Plymouth Road Runner, '70 Plymouth Superbird, '71 Plymouth Satellite, '71 Plymouth GTX, and '71 Plymouth Hemi 'cuda, both hardtop and convertable versions. If I left any out, let me know Big Smile

No limit on which direction you go, but it has to start from one of the above kits, contain at least 50% of the kit's original parts, and the model you chose should be only 25% (or less) started. I know these kits aren't exactly up to the standards of today's kits, but they still hold up fairly well as far as looking "right" overall.

 Anyone interested? Whistling

Casey- Heres the pics of my 71 'Cuda that im working on for this CBP.

The 440 ci came from a Monogram 70 GTX. I basically swapped the engines from both kits. The GTX engine is in the 'Cuda & the 'Cuda engine is going in the GTX. In order for the 440 to fit in the 'Cuda i had to notch out the motor mounts for the engine to go in correctly.
