I can't believe there hasn't been more response. Seems a perfect winter project
of a very popular subject!
I've got a ' 69 SS convertible that I just finished stripping the paint off of
yesterday, as my vision of how I intend to do it kinda changed. So bye-bye went
the Hugger Orange and she's getting primered today. I've got the MCG photo etch
set for it as well, so freddy you can count me IN!
Now I  just need to hunt down the right decals (this is the R-M pace car kit, and
I'm definitely not doing a pace car!).
Hey guys, if smelly can give this a shot then what are you sittin' there for?
C'mon build a Camaro!

Here's my start, the ' 69 RM 396 SS ragtop primered and the scripts removed.
I'll be scouring for photos but if anyone knows a good site with lots of detail
pictures of these cars, including what color combos were available then please
give a shout.
See, Furby approves! But then he loves everything I do since I erased his brain.

Hey Guys-

I'm in. I just heard about this in another thread. I've been SLOWLY working on a 70 1/2 that I have made into a convertible. I added the hood center from a 69 SS and SS wheels from the AMT 70 Chevelle. I am also putting the 396 from the 66 El Camino kit in it. So far the interior is done and the chassis and suspension is painted. I need to wait to put the engine in to see how the exhaust will need to be changed before I can assemble the suspension to the chassis. I've been wiring and plumbing the engine this week. Colors will be Testors Bright Platinum (possibly) with Maroon interior.

This will be my first CBP and hopefully I can get someone in this house with more intelligence than me to help me post some photos. I'll try Fri or Sat night.

I look forward to seeing everyone elses projects.

Later-

Mines gonna be my way, but with factory stock parts.
Sorta . . . he he.
The body's painted already, Lemans blue.
It's gonna need a lotta love with the polishing and maybe
a shot of clear, we'll see.

Well freddy first you need an image hosting site to store your pics
on that you want to share here. I've got a free account at imagecave
but it's limited to 10 mb, so the pics stored there have to be resized
or I'll run out of space quick. I use a free program called PhoteResize
for that. You can find it with Google. Since 800x600 is considered best
for this site, just rename the program to PhotoResize800x600.exe and it
will make them all automatically that size when you drag them from the
folder to the PhotoResize icon on your desktop, and it'll put the new ones
in the same folder.
Then upload your resized pics to the image site and open up another browser
window to scale auto, make your post, click on the "insert/edit image" button
and copy the url for the picture from the image host into the box that says
"image url". In the "image description" box you can just call it something
like "Camaro 01" or whatever you like. In the "Alignment" box select "bottom"
if you want your pics to appear below your text. Don't worry about the other boxes.
Then click "Insert".
If you want to add another pic or two (remember, maximum three) then click
"Insert/edit image" again and enter a new url for another pic, and so on.
If you've got lots of pics of something, then after you post three make a reply
and then post another three pics by the above method. This is what I do, but by
all means consult the Posting Pictures FAQ in the community assistance forum
for alot more info.
Hope that helps!

I would like to join this build. I started on a '69 Yenko for the Ford vs Chevy build but that seems to have died since I was the only person to post any progress after 2 months. Heres what I've got done so far.

Welcome guys-

Smelly and Renegade, those look like some great starts. I like that LeMans blue. I have a can of that too and can't wait to use it. Maybe on a 67 Vette.

Renegade, what color is yours going to be? Is that overspray on the chassis?

BTW- Thanks for the info onposting photos. Maybe I can get my daughter to help me tonight to post some of my photos. I'll have to use her laptop since mine went belly up this week.

mdlbldr, the car will be hugger orange with white stripes. Also, that is over spray on the chassis.

Today, I got the body primed and the grill painted. Heres a pick.

How's everyone doing on their Camaros? I haven't made any progress this week due to two issues. The first is that I just started yesterday to insulate my model room (a 8X18 ft metal building at the back of my garage). The weather here has been in the 20's -30's so it makes it impossible to paint in and uncomfortable to build in. The second is that I have been trying, unsuccessfully, to get two sets of the front tires from the Revell 32 Ford 3-window kit from the "Where can I get?" forum to use as rubber for my Camaro. Anybody got one or two sets to trade? If so, E-mail me. Still trying to con my family into helping me post photos.

Modlbldr

How's everyone doing on their Camaros?

I had to give the ' 69 ragtop body another coat of paint yesterday
as I just wasn't happy with it, so now it needs a few days to cure
before I polish it out.
I've done absolutely nothing else so far as I'm doing my Mercury first
but I did get my decals in the mail today.
And I'm still toying with ideas for the drivetrain.
It's off to the hobby shop tomorrow, so depending what I come home with
from there might have an influence on how this one turns out.

Fred, I did have a good Turkey day. Even had a pretty good day shopping on BLACK Friday. Finishing the shopping at the HS was a good way to end the day.

I just took these picks. How you like. I'll post picks with the decals on. I'm hoping to work on them later today.

Later,

Mike
