Chris, I'm going to do my best to get another chassis or somehow jury rig something to get my ride height back where I want it. I also painted the car gold as per my original idea. And.........it looks like my artistic mind was wrong about that. It looks awful. So I'm going to make a few minor design changes, and then get my primers and weathering stuff out and make her an aged veteran Deathracer. The whole big-and-bold-as-life idea just didn't work out. Don't worry, she'll get done............eventually.

Okay thanks to the wide availablity of the 300C I was able to get one from Ebay for an absurdly low price. So the Spartan is back on the lift and the mechanics are firing up the torches.

Well she's finally done. It's about as far from my original vision as you can go. I'd originally planned a huge gold vehicle with red graphics the SPARTAN! But once I laid the gold, I hated it. Only the remaining detail from the the original idea is the gold shield with the Spartan Lambda symbol. Over the terrible gold I laid several colors of enamels in splotches, then added some rust colored acrylics. The I sprayed it with water and added the sea salt. When it was dry I sprayed satin black. I then gave it a good scrubbing with rubbing alcohol to remove the salt and to feather the edges of the paint chips. As well knock down the shine a bit. She recieved a couple of washes and some detail painting. Offensive capabilities consist of the twin .50 caliber machine guns and an octet of short range missiles which are all scratch built. Defensive capabilities are a smoke machine that uses a fine ground pepper in the mix which will be uncomfortable for anyone to get a snootful of. In the rear bumper are four nozzles for deploying a type of oil slick which is made using a precise mixture of witch hazel, cod liver oil, and KY jelly. It is particularly effective and the EPA is cool with it. Here's some pics, I hope you like it.

Hi guys, thought I would add to this old thread since I don't see a Frankenstein FR500 Mustang form the movie Death Race.  Started life as a diecast 1/24 scale Maisto 2005 Mustang GT.  Used lots of thin aluminum, wire, air dry clay for Frankenstein.  Gatling gun made from cut aluminum, body of a BIC pen and angel hair pasta for the barrels.  Yes, it's not just for eating! Big Smile

What kills me about these builds is that gas would be rare and these vehicles with armour, roll cages etc. Would get about 3 mpg. A machine gun mounted to the hood? Wouldn't u need a crane to open the hood? An angled scoop on the front of car so the vehicle can fly up and smash the machine gun on the roof? Giant hood scoop so u can't see Whe re ur going? I just think a little bit of common sense is required.

They're fictional ...................... !!!! And they're cool builds Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

No different to the unfeasably low muscle cars that I build with 23" rims that couldn't steer in real life, but look cool .... they're fictional .........

I have a good friend who builds post apocalyptic stuff and it looks great .... totally fictional ... but cool Cool
