1/12 scale CBP[69 Camaro,57Chevy,67 Corvette, Mustang, and Luv Buggy continues 06/07/14

  • I sure hope i named all the 1/12 scale American racing cars that are in 1/12 scale. Anyways after a the re-release of the 69 Camaro i thougth it would be nice to start a CBP. Its just not a Camaro CBP. Its all those cars that are named in the Title that are welcomed. So if you are building a 1/12 scale 57 chevy, corvette, or even the fast back mustang your more than welcomed here. Im going to give this CBP till June of the year 2007 for completion. Please help me to not let this CBP die out.

    These are the rules:

1.Only only those cars named in the opening title are allowed[unless i forgot one.] No Formula 1 or Imports allowed.[Sorry]

    2. Build what ever you want. [Pro street, Pro Touring, Street Machine, Nostalgia, Bracket and even a beater.]

    3.Any engines allowed!

    So Lets get Cutting Gentlemen.........

  • I'm in with the original issue 57 Chevy and also an original issue 69 Z/28. The Z will be Cortez Silver with a black interior and black rally stripes. I'm not sure what I'm going to do the 57 up with as of right now. Possibly a street machine or even a 1/4 mile pounder. I admit, i love the spider web decals that came with that kit and would really like to use them, but I don't want the car to look stupid or gaudy with them. Any suggestions for the 57 is more than welcome!
  • Welcome aboard! Thumbs Up for the 57 anything thats awsume!

  • ill join up with my BB camaro project if i only can get ahold of a BB asap. no corvettes on ebay at the moment. was some guy that was gonna get a kit and cast the engine but i havent heard anything from him. so dosent look to good
  • I'm in also . I will be doing a prostreet 69 Camaro using the rear wheels and tires from a 1:18th Ertl Muscle Machines diecast. I will have to go through my old builds that I have stuffed away in a box and hope I still have the big block from the Corvette kit.

Hope I see some really cool cars in this CBP.
  • I'm in, been looking forward to this!

  • I've never done the CBP thing as I can barely get one project done a year. However, since this has until the summer of '07, I think I might join the fun. The subject I will be doing is the new '69 camaro since that is the only one that I have (and there are plenty since it has been re-released). I think I will try pro-touring and will be using the Banks' '68 Camaro for design and engineering queues. http://www.bankspower.com/camaro.cfm

Thanks, Ralph, for your inspiration! I've been following you (and some others) with the 1/12 and larger scale and have admired your work for a long time. Time for me to get into these. After seeing how you came up with your wheel combination, I oredered a 1/12 tuner toy and will probably use the wheels, steering wheel and seats from it. I've also been buying some 1/12 items from Rob at R&B Motion (for my 1/12 top fuel bike) and now will have another project to use this stuff.

Can't wait to see pictures of all the projects. Based on all the talent I see on this forum, they will be good. BTW, you guys might also want to post your stuff on the large scale modeler website: http://www.largescalemodeler.com/gallery/index.php

  • Welcome aboard Everyone! Its looking like a Good Turn out so far but i know more will join later. I know alot of you are going to use the Corvette for the Big Block but dont throw away that kit just yet. You can switch the Engine from the Camaro [smal block] and put it in the Corvette. you can make a twin turbo out of that one too.....

  • Wich wheels do you mean Kjetil? The pro touring Camaro or the Pro Street?

  • the pro street wheels. realy want to start adapting some of the parts. im sorta just leeching from your skills and copi`ing your stuff Big Smile some of it anyway gotta start on the rear end real soon. just gotte find out a way to bend square turbes

  • I in for sure, hopefully I can get it done by then, sometimes I think I got myself alittle too far into the cutting and chopping.
Futten about bending rectangle tube cut through the top just to the bottom leaving just the bottom side of the rectangle connected repeat every few millimeters, then I just traced the finished shape onto thin styrene and glued it to both sides. To keep the shape I wanted I glued a strip down the top side to keep it bent at the curve I wanted. Take a look at the picture the rear frame rail. I had to do a little sanding to get the traced pieces to fit exactly. If there are any easier ways out there let me know
  • Ill try and post pictures tomorrow for you Kjetil on those wheels. The size of the Brass rod im using is 1/8 for my role cage.
