Nice hearse Dukk, Superior's are definately my favourite. Welcome to the hearse build.

Second that. They have the most shape to them instead of being a big box

I too like the Superior cars... The '76 caddy I had was a superior.... I miss that car more than the ex-wife who made me sell it.

I picked up a new Revell 80's Cadillac lowrider kit sunday. This is a nice starting place for a hearse or limo.
Wheres my #$%^@# bailout??

Geez Grandpa, how many hearse's and flower cars are you building? It's definately got some potential to make a cool pro car or limo, I look foward to seeing what you do with that one. Progress is coming along slowly with my flower car, just finished scratch building most of the rear bumper and started on the 60 series side skirts and trim. I'm still trying to get the front wheelwells to look right, I'm not sure how many times I've redone them now. I'll post some more progress pics soon.

p.s. Today is 06/06/06, spooky init.

I take it that's Martin Sheperd's 58 Eureka flower car, I tried getting pics from him via email but he never got back to me. Thanks, it's really hard to find reference material for 58 flower cars, esspecially Superiors which have a different roof and tray. I've only got a few pics of a beat up rusted 58 Superior flower car with no tray to work from and a grainy low resolution side profile drawing from a catalogue I found on line. I've been trying to find a rear view for months and ended up just working from photos of 58 Superior hearse's instead.

I' ve got another Ghost Busters body.... I think I'll make a flower car to go with my custom '59.

I've got the 60 Series trim on the body now, opened the hood and have almost finished up detailing my scratch built rear bumper, it's almost ready for primer. I've also been reworking the interior tub, door panels and bench seat.

Is there still interest in this CPB or should I move my build to the Hot rod & custom section?

There's interest in this CBP Erase, but we all have several projects going, and don't always have time for this one. I'm very interested in the progress of how the hearses and flower cars are going. I have been working on projects that are close to finishing first, working in that order. Modelbuildingrandpa has three projects for this CBP alone. Anyway, just have a good time with it, and whatever you choose to do with it is up to you.

Sweet, I just haven't seen a whole lot of activity on here lately. I found some blury Superior flower car specs from 63, they might be useful for anyone building a 59 flower car out of the Ecto. As far as I know Superior didn't change their basic proportions that much between 59 and 63 so the dimensions should translate.

Sorry about the quality, if you squint hard enough you might just be able to read it. Or better yet, save it and open it up on an imaging program and zoom in.
I've got lots of reference photo's & if you want them I could e-mail them.

Also, here's an underside view of a 59 Cadillac commercial chassis, It's a bit messy but I had to cobble it together on photoshop from six different photo's. I hope it's a helpful reference for someone.

I've decided to channel my flower car a few scale inches and rework the bed, still not sure about building it with or without the flower tray on the back.

Thanks for the great reference pics Erase! I'm building that custom '59, and I'm planning to build a flower car to go with it. And I want to thank you Dukk, for joining us here on the CBP. I replied to a complaint in the builders corner forum, and you are one of the reasons that I made this never ending. Alot of people have joined this CBP, long after the deadline, and since it's so popular, and new people are joining who want a chance to build a hearse, or flower car, I wanted to be fair. So everyone, I want to thank you for making this CBP what it is, and enjoy! Marshall.

Some people just don't know when to stop complaining..... I got an e-mail from a member who said he's quiting because of all the complaining. All I want to do is build, and see others peoples builds, not read someones whining and complaining.....

Seriously? That's nuts. It's not that bad.

Channeled my flower car last night about two scale inches. I'll double check everything to make sure it's looking right, might need to remove one more inch or so. After posting those 63 Superior specs I had a realization and changed the bed in the back a bit. Geeez I'm slack with the photo's.

Ditto.

Progress has been kind of slow for me lately. It's been snowing down here and almost too cold to get anything done. The more I detail and check reference photo's the more I realise how much stuff was wrong or just missing from the kit in the first place, one step foward, two steps back. I'll borrow a camera and get some pic's up this week.
