Hey Guys, I managed to get the body for my '74 MPC painted. I also was on Ebay (again) and got hold of a '75 AMT II kit. And also got the body painted and started the chassis for it.Colors: '74 = yellow w/red and blue graphics. '75 = medium metallic blue. I'll have pics soon.

Sounds great Roy!! Can't wait to see the pics!
I am going with tan interior with black front buckets seats from parts box. No back seat. Scratch built roll cage. The 351 will have a highrise manifold & twin carbs.
I found some 5 spoke rims in the parts box for the front, I will paint them gloss black, the whitewalls will stay. Rear will stay as in the pic.
Hmmmmmm, I might have to put "Monkey Vomit" on there somewhere!!!!! Eight Ball

Wow looks like I picked the right time to join up here. I was just thinking of starting in on my 77 Mustang. I want to do it as something that has been driven every day since it came off the showroom floor, through every kind of weather. I know it's kinda late to get in on this build as it looks like most of you have a pretty good start already, but I'd still like to get in on the action.

Well ive got some updates.

I've ordered an aluminum air cleaner from MAS (still havent got it yet)
Ive redone the boyd kit to allow for better tire fitting
Ive made a cowl hood
Ive got paint ready to go
Ive got the engine just about built (except for the air cleaner)
Interior is painted
Chassis is so-so painted
body is still waiting. (dont want to paint until I know wether or not the air cleaner will clear the hood)

And thats about it.

Nice going . I did the striping on my KC. (decaling)
Just finished tonight. Took me 5 sessions of 1 hour. because there is striping everywhere on this car.
The interior is painted except for the dash. and some detailing.
Engine is almost finished, still missing a few wires.
Frame also close to finish.
Have to work on bumpers insert Shaping, painting and decaling.
Next will be to install the targa bar which is finished and painted.
Clear coat on the body.
Wheels detailing. Silver and orange.
And finally trim painting and detailing of the body and ''Voila''.

Will try to post pics tomorrow.

Hey Webestang, this week I received my Cobra II race car kit I won on ebay. Pais $20. + shipping. Its got a very nice body. I am thinking of installing it on a JPS Mustang I builg 10 years ago. Is was badly built and will need a lot of work.
Thank you for the lead...

Glad you got that kit Mike!! Hope it works out with the other chassie. I have 6 of those Fox Mustang race kits, 2 without decals....maybe I will look for another Stang II IMSA kit and try that too.
Hey Boss, Sounds great. What color are you going with?
Looking forward to the pics Mike.
My next Stang II for this build will be a replica of the 78 I used to own.
I miss that ride..........Sad

QUOTE: Hey Boss, Sounds great. What color are you going with?

Im going with a deep metalic blue. If I ever get my aircleaner I could get the thing Painted. I might end up just painting the body and leaving the hood alone until I get it or figue out something else to do.

The striping is a sheet of decal from Keith Marks, mofobow@hotmail.com. This man has all the info you need to do striping on most muscle cars.
http://public.fotki.com/mofobow/
This is very interesting to look if you like a 60/70's muscle cars.

I'm almost finished. I am presently juggling with the windows. Final assembly will be done tonight. Will try to post new pics.

Hey hey. will have to wait for pics. Has serious problem with windows fit. This is not the original roof so windows do not fit. I strggle for too long and manage to damage the painted black trim. And while fixing the trims and damage some of the fine strpes around the windows. Now I have to redo the black trims and striping. First time I see this the clear coat will not adhere good to the decals. Its automotive clear I used.

I have to order new decal. So I am going to take a break from this project.

Anyway I came close to finish it. That's life, nothing I can do except maybe a dragster or a nascar or an exotic or...........
