You are probably right, PopsD!  And I know who he is! Has a lot of ego, but it's all bad.  Too usy counting his model shelves and little plastic parts drawers, all the year he's been retired!  You can actually say, he'd complain if he was hung with a new rope!!!!  It'd be tons of fun, though! And you'd need some type of project coordinator to police the build.  We gonna try it, instead of just talking it??    S56->

Does sound good, but what would you use in your selection process of who builds what?  Man, you would have to be soooooo careful of who you selected?

Time limits, how much time would you allow the selected participants to finish their portion of the project?   The list goes on and on, about the cons to this endeavor .

I would suggest that if you really wanted to do this, that you contacted 5 or 6 individuals, and email them with an invite for participation.

Be careful, you're about to open a can of worms you don't want to be involved in

.  People are people and NO OFFENSE, to anyone,  there are weirdo's out there that would complain and rant and rave, because they weren't selected or chosen to participate,

Get the right people, the right product, they right definitions, and the right rules, and your project would probably be the most awesome build every seen.   Good luck.

Being a truck driver with limited space I would definetely be interested. I cant wlrk on an entire kit in my truck bit I could build smaller sib-assemblies. I am totally up for this idea. Count me in.

I love building models.

Could be a very interesting idea and project. Depending on the subject matter and kit, I might be interested in prepping, painting, and polishing the body, and then passing it on to someone else for foiling or other detailing.

Totally in, this is a great idea!

On the bench: '10 Shelby GT500, '40 Ford, '69 Cougar, a few tanks and a few aircraft kits.

I got thinking this section doesnt see much action. Not sure why its a great idea.
But i thought of a way we could make a great idea better.
I thought we could expand the "community build project" from forum based to continent or even possibly world wide!

Heres my basic plan outlined in a nutshell

I go out and buy a kit that has alot of pieces and sub assmblys.

I then divide those sub assmblies into there own respective packaging. Example: entire engine package, chassis package, body pieces etc. All packaged with a photo of said assmbly for referance purposes

Folks who want to be involved will then be shipped their indivdual package and photo to be completed. Once everyones portion is completed then would then be sent to one builder ( chosen by vote?) to then combine the finished sections into one finished model.

Said model could then possibly taken to shows where it could be shown off or maybe featured in the fine magazine who hosts such a forum for us??

I dunno just a thought and curious how many would be interested in something like this, and if anyone has any ideas.

Yes i know one downfall of this is the cost of shipping but u thought it could be worth such an interesting project!
