How about a Zombie Apocalypse Death Mobile CBP
Posted by jrmullens1 on Saturday, May 05, 2012 5:31 PM

Hey guys, have not posted for awhile. I was searching thru the CBP's and I saw a lot of Death Race/ Mad Max/ Post Apocalypse CBPs that had some really cool cars. I've seen pics on the internet of zombie killing cars and thought this might be cool. Check out the busses in the Dawn of the Dead remake. To keep gore to a minimum, build the car as either just completed and has not made a run yet or washed off. What does a zombie killer need? Lots of sharp edges, power, weight, passenger protection and weapons. Let me know what you think.

I've always been crazy but it's kept me from going insane.

That could be a cool idea.  I think you need to narrow it down a bit with a completion date though.  I'm not sure if it will get a lot of attention on this forum but it would be a cool idea if people participate.  If we get a few people I will try to build something.

Thanks for the reply, Mostly checking for interest first before setting a completion date.

since there's a competing build thread on the "other" forum, how about making one of the rules be that, whatever you build has to be able to function IF it were real? because, well.... functional realism went by the wayside with that thread's CBP.

BTW.... in the remade Dawn of the Dead, the razor wire and gratings they added to the shuttle vans simply gave the zombies something to grab onto, made them topheavy and unstable, and added far too much weight for the survivors to be able to drive them fast and keep them upright. it made for great film time, but it practically killed two-thirds of the mall survivors.

look at The Walking Dead... no outrageous artillery mounted on top of thin sheet metal; no slice-dice machinery... just transportation and shelter (at least until the Winnie was abandoned to z's)....

i didn't mean to be a thread killer.... just presenting some observations and those are just mine, anyway.

far be it for me to say what's functional in anybody's imagination.

I had actually posted about this on the FineScale forums today. I'm interested. Since this thread sort of died I'm going to take the initiative and jump start a new thread with a few rules and see if anyone gets interested.

Here's the thread link:  cs.scaleautomag.com/.../111427.aspx

I agree with you completely. Although if I'm going to build a zombie car model I'm going to trick it out a little bit. But without going over the top. I actually had just posted about this same thing on the FineScale forums but figured I'd jump start the same group build project over here. So... if you're interested in joining:  cs.scaleautomag.com/.../111427.aspx
