Monster Garage

Has anybody heard of any plans for Monster Garage model cars. I think that would be real cool. Especially the Zamboni, and the nutshaker. Anyone heard any talk or plans or anything at all?

No problem, man - build your own monster! It would take a lot of slash-and-burn scratchbuilding, but that's the spirit of the show, so you can't go wrong no matter how rough and unfinished it looks.

The reality is that I doubt we'll ever see any kits. The show is something of a 'cult' hit, not a big market smash, so the model companies probably won't sink the money into tooling a new kit. Not to mention the licensing fees that the Discovery Chanel and Jesse James would want out of it.

My best advice is to let the show guide your build: Go insane, don't sweat the fit-and-finish details, and build something wicked! Just imagine the reaction from the other show fans when they see YOUR "grim ripper" hearse -- the one that actually got finished and works!

"YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! Adam's got not time for celebrations, he's got metal to burn and sparks to fly!! The next Monster Garage model is JUST..... AROUND.... THE BENNNNDDDD!!"

Maybe there's a group build theme here that would make everybody smile. Any model you want to build and try to make it a firefighting vehicle. The more outlandish, the better!

How about everyone uses the same kit, but the twist is that you can only spend $10.00 extra to create the monster. you must save reciepts for all parts added?

This will give birth to similar but different versions of the same concept.

$10 limit. That could be hard for us modelers outside the US. Remember that an average price for a regular AMT kit is $27-30 here....
Parts box challebge? Sounds a bit more like it! Combined hearse/meat grinder anyone...? The more morbid/weird/extreme, the better...LOL
