They would really be better off if they did provide photos of their products. I know I would buy more stuff. I am never able to pass them up when I have seen them at shows, because I can look at the products before I buy, not just a description and a price. I have e-mailed them on that subject over a year ago...I never heard back

To quote Arcturus:
http://www.scaleautomag.com/sca/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=60817

"Modelhaus don't do pictures, but heres a guy who's took some photos from his own collection.
http://public.fotki.com/jsharisky/modelhaus_resin_items/ "
And still quoting Arcturus:
"Or,I've got pics of there unbuilt products from my collection.

No, they really would not be better off!

Modelhaus has neither the time to take the photos, nor the capacity to deal with the potential increase in sales if that was done (no guarantee). They're in the enviable position to have enough business via their catalog and website as-is that they don't need to put photos on their website. If you don't like that, too bad. Their quality is excellent. If you have questions, email or call them, they'll be very helpful, they're very nice people to do business with. It's a small family-run business. They've been pouring resin for over 20 years and have been very successful and do offer a website unlike some others. They have literally thousands of different parts in the catalog, documenting it all in photographs would be a very time-consuming endeavor.

To add to Bob's comments- I have had questions on their products and called them to find them to be most helpful. While I had a pretty good idea of what I was looking for, Don put me at ease and explained what I was attempting to buy.

These folks are the only ones that I have done mail order resin purchases with and have NEVER been disappointed with any of their products.

I ran into them at Toledo and took pictures of their selection for my own reference. Don mentioned that a lot of people do that. I would post it the pictures, but it appears that the link above has the same items that I have. Great quality stuff.

Bob - Your reply was a little harsh and out-of-character. Do you need a hug? Maybe some caffeine?

Sorry it came off that way, I felt the need to defend them against comments which seem somewhat harsh and uninformed, and I certainly don't want anyone else who reads this (and perhaps have not dealt with the Modelhaus) to get the impression from comments like those that the Modelhaus is anything like the resin/aftermarket companies that give them all a bad name. They're one of the few resin companies that can be trusted unconditionally, nice people, great service, great products. Having known them for over 20 years, I feel somewhat invested in their success and so it hits me on a more personal level when people take uniformed potshots at their lack of online photos, this is not the first time I've heard these kind of comments, and it certainly won't be the last! I'd like to see photos of all their products too. Considering they have thousands of products, imagine the time it would take to shoot catalog photos of everything, and get it all properly sorted and online. That would be a full-time job for someone for an awfully long time. Easier for a big company, punishing for a Mom & Pop company.

This is the only way to get the photos of what you want to see . I know of no other way how to get pics .I would rather Don & Carol build up and send parts rather than making a catalog . I will send you 2 views each , three modelhaus kits finished . I need your address as I cannot get it from this forum . I'm still working on posting here . If you are interested <rainell2000@peoplepc.com> . I have never been dissappointed in 20 + years . Thanx..

though i haven't dealt with Modelhaus, i HAVE heard of their excellent reputation. i don't have a catalog and don't know if they'd send one w/o an order. i'd love to have one so i'd know all they offered and place an order with them.

Call or email them or look at their online catalog. The paper one is the best. I think they'll send them w/a SASE.

Lighten' up Francis........ Even though this post is old I thought I would respond back. In no way did ANYONE, myself included, put these guys down and group them in with the rest of the aftermarket resin companies. Like I stated in my previous post in case you need to re-read it.. "I can never pass them up at shows"...does this sound like a comment complaining about these guys? I have several of their aftermarket replacement parts and wheels, along with a couple of resin bodies. Like anything who would not want to look at a product before they buy it? No one said anything out of line.

I recently ordered a bunch of stuff from Modelhaus and the quality was first-rate. The only thing was that it took them about six weeks to fill my order, and I understand this is about par for the course, so plan accordingly and don't wait until the last minute to order anything from them you need on a deadline (like for a contest or whatever). Otherwise, great stuff at a fair price!

My My 2 cents. I have not dealt with Modelhaus for quite a few years, but when I did, I was nothing but satisfied. I even called to ask a question or two and they were more than happy to talk and give info. I too, would love to see photos before I buy. Not because I question the quality, but I am usually ignorant as to what the differences are between a 62 and 64 Chrysler hubcap. A picture would make it easier for me. In these instances I Google a 62 Chrysler cap to see what it looks like. I agree that they surely do not have the time to post photos of all of their products.

I guess what I am saying is this: If you know what it is you want, don't hesitate to order from the best resin caster in the business. If you don't know what it is, do the research, then order from them. Happy building!

Greatest people in resin! I order about once every two months, I usually need something a bt out of the ordinary, like wheels/tires for a 53 Buick..all I do is tell them what I'm building, and what I need..I leave it up to them! My last order was given one week before Christmas and I received it yesterday. So they are about 3 weeks..darn good for someone that casts as they receive orders!

My only beef is the search feature. I was looking for some 50's 1 ton dual wheel wheels CooCoo Chris had bought from them. I for the life of me I couldn't find them. I have sent them an e-mail for what I'm looking for.

I have ordered from them many times and must say they have great stuff. They say on there sight that they can take up to 8 weeks. The fastest I have gotten stuff is three weeks. The longest I have waited was 6 weeks. They sent my order minus 1 part once. They included a note that the front bumper was sent in to be rechromed and they would send that later. I did get all my parts with no hassles!!

I have ordered from Modelhaus twice late last year and I wasn't disappointed at all with the quality or the lead time for product to arrive at my doorstep.  I had a question about wheel covers for a Dodge Charger and emailed Don about it and received an answer quickly.  Great people and great service.  A great vendor to do business with.

I agree with those that applaud Modelhaus.  I wish I could order from them as much as Mike, lol!  Yeah, photos could be helpful, but that fotki site listed earlier is a great resource if you are interested in buying from Don.  As for their response quickness, I emailed him once about a grille suggestion.  Although the grille in comment wasn't that popular to merit being produced, Don was quite polite and quick in responding to me.  I haven't ordered a great amount from them, but from my dealings and all that I have read here and other places, I feel that Modelhaus is one of the best things this hobby has going for it!  Kudos to you Mr. Holthaus!
