Tamiya R34 Skyline GT-R Vspec2 parts
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 12, 2004 2:09 PM
I recently rebuilt a Tamiya R34 Skyline GT-R Vspec II model that had been dropped and unceremoniously put in a box. The model is completely restored except for the following pieces that are missing:

-Left front disc brake
-Steering rod that attaches both left and right wheels so the wheels turn together
Left front steering pin (what the wheel and disc brake attach to)
-2 rubber washers (so the wheel doesn't fall off)

If anyone has these parts or knows where to get these parts please let me know.

do you have the instruction manual?

if so, there is a number there that you can call for replacement parts

the vspec ii is the newer of the r34's, so the kit and it's parts should still be in stock at tamiya

also, check the 'steering pin' to make sure it still has the pin that the spindle fits onto.
while building my r34 vspec, one of the little pins snapped off as i was putting the wheel on, so i can probably make a safe assumption that the same part would be as brittle on your kit...and as yours was dropped, it might have broken too.

No, the instructions are long gone unfortunately. The wheels are intact as well as the pin that attaches the wheel to the steering pin. I believe the wheel came off first, as I recall this kit having only 2 wheels on before it was dropped.
