BRE Datsun 240Z
Posted by DoubleFourValve on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 4:58 AM
Bought the Revell Z, and I´m looking to build the BRE racer version. Where can I get some racing parts?

Libre wheels + tires
Dashboard
Light covers
Spoiler

That will do (allready have the decals).
Thanks

Hi!

Have you looked at or are you aware of Revell's re-release of the BRE Datsun 240Z? I bought this kit back in the late-'90s I believe. Looks like it was first released in the early-'70s. I've never built it (only took the parts trees out of the plastic, looked it over, and stuck it on the shelf to gather dust with the others) so I don't know if it has all the parts you are looking for. I doubt I'll ever build it – I wanted a stock Z at the time and there wasn't one available. Hope this helps!

BTW - If you'd like any pics of the parts you mention, just let me know and I'll shoot and post them for you.

Thank you. Mike. Yes I´,m aware of the reissue, but didn´t find one. This all issue just come to me a short time ago, since I had some Romero decals for the BRE cars - I´m also building the BRE 510 from the 510 Tuner series - and bought the Revell 240Z and it seems a straightforward conversion.

Shooting the parts in question in order to "eyeball" them it will be great!

Thanks in advance.

The 510 sounds really cool, too! I'll try to shoot the 240Z parts for you tonight when I get home.

Thank you, Mike. Sure it will help. These are great.
I think the major problem will be the wheels. And tires that look right. The dashboard looks like the stock one - I´m just going to change the insert with the radio, heater controls, etc, based on a photo I have. The rear spoiler still is in the kit. Dito the rollbar. The light covers will have to be reshaped from plastic and putty, I guess. The front spoiler will have to be scracthbuild, and the exhaust system will be an educated guess. For the steering wheel I´ll have to go to the spares box.
Looks like a lot of fun ahead.
Thanks again.
