AMT 1970 Monte Carlo bumpers
Posted by Nitro_Alltrac on Saturday, February 15, 2020 8:13 PM

Hey folks.

I'm finally getting around to building the 70 Monte Carlo SS that I've had since the 90's.  What I had never noticed till I started the kit was that both the front and rear bumpers have crud under the chrome plating and look terrible.  The crud is huge.

I've been checking on Ebay to see if there are any on there but no luck so far.  Would anybody a set that they would be willing to part with?

I've I can't come up with a set without having to buy another complete kit, I'm going to try stripping them and using Alclad to redo them.

This isn't going to be a show piece.  It's my return to modeling after 20 years piece.

Thanks!

Mike

A good place to check for those bumpers is at a swap meet where kits, die-casts, paint, aftermarket products, and PARTS are sold. Hope you can find what you're lookin' for.

Don't know if you're interested but there's a rear bumper listed on ebay right now for $6.

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

He seems to have parted one out and doesn't have the front listed. Somebody else or he, will likely post another one soon.
