1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner
Posted by havin' fun on Sunday, September 24, 2017 3:45 PM

Recently at a local thrift store I found an assembled 1961 Ford Galaxie Sunliner.  The glass is intact and not cracked.  Thinking of a disassemble and rebuild. The only problem is the model is missing the hood.  Any good source for finding such a piece?  Thanks.

try looking for one on ebay, usually many part out kits on there, there is on seller i know that sells many vintage model parts, seller's name is vintagemodelcarparts

Want something done right, you got to do it yourself.

You could always cut one out of the newer repop of the AMT '61 Ford Club Coupe kit if nothing else.

The '61 Sunliner is not a particularly rare kit so an original hood shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Hi I am pretty sure I can come up with a hood, any other 61 pieces needed? It may take a couple days digging thru the boxes but....

You will need to check the dimensions, This may be a 64?, I am still digging , I have a bag full of hoods just need to find them

Looks like a '63 to me.

The '61 doesn't have the creases on the sides.

It has a peak down the center.

The '61 Sunliner hood has a single crease down the middle of the hood.  As was suggested the pictuired onemay be a '64.  Thanks and hope your search is successful.

that one indeed is a 63 piece, the 64 has a chrome molding above the grille but in the 63 kit there might be a second one wich is a61-62 hood. so find a 63 kit and youre the man!
