Looking for Wrong Revell Charger Body
Posted by spencer1984 on Friday, May 26, 2017 8:59 AM

Does anyone have one of the old Revell Pro Modeler Chargers with the incorrect body that they'd be willing to part with?  Body only, or complete/partial kit.  I'll be happy to buy or trade, just let me know what you're looking for.  Thanks!

I've got several complete kits I know for sure the yellow onewith black top on box art? I know this is impossible but looking for MPC 70s dodge van builder kit or MPC dodge Powerwagon builder or a dodge Warlock builder these are a few I'm looking for

I am curious, what is wrong with the Charger body? I assume the problem was fixed. Is there anyway to determine if a kit has the wrong body? I have one in my stash (sealed, I think) but was unaware of any problems.

Moparlover64, I don't think I have enough MPC van parts to make a full kit, but I'll double check what I have - thanks!

Bainford, the first release of the Pro Modeler Charger had the wrong roofline. It was corrected as a running change (and was always correct in the blue/white top and later), but my understanding is that even though there are two versions of the "Pro Modeler" box there's no way to tell which one you have without checking the contents.

I'm still in for the van and a 2oz bottle of the purple label gap filling .ca glue micro mark or the likes is like 10.00 a bottle. Seems like a fair trade ? Of course with as much of the van as possible it'll be a custom anyways replicating my old 1to1

Thanks spencer. I will compare it to my 68 (which I assume is correct) and see if I can determine any differences.

I got a chance to check through my stash tonight, no body parts (including bumpers/grille/lights), just an interior and a lot of miscellaneous engine/chassis parts. Sorry

Bill, I have the incorrect Charger body and it is yours for the asking.  The passenger side vent window molding was removed.

There IS a way to tell the two apart.  Look at the box lid.  Right under '69 Charger R/T, Revell - Monogram is in gray and stretches all the way across the box, and the Pro Modeller logo is a sickly yellow.  This kit is from 1997.  If it is white letters on a blue banner and fits completely under the Pro Modeller 2 paintbrush logo which has a darker yellow background, then it is the newer release (1999) with the updated body.  Also, on the side with the white background above the UPC code, there is a date.  The 1997 is released by Revell Monogram, whereas the 1999 kit is a division of Binney Smith.  Bad body: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-Monogram-85-5937-Pro-Modeler-69-Charger-R-T-1-25-scale-Sealed-Kit-/112428945997?epid=1500193772&hash=item1a2d49924d:g:D10AAOSw7GRZCNTZ, corrected body: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Revell-Monogram-Pro-Modeler-69-Charger-R-T-1-25-new-factory-sealed-/272282971117?epid=1500193772&hash=item3f65546bed:g:UgwAAOSwjXRXayKN

I have no way of posting pictures, so I included the links.  Hope this helps.
