Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Posted by Drackopolis on Monday, January 5, 2004 11:34 PM
I just recently got my daughter the CCBB movie and sat down to watch it again after many many years.

While watching it it dawned on me that when i was a kid, my brother had a model of CCBB and i remember not ever being allowed to touch it.

So, now that it is fresh in my mind again i will pose the question...

Where can i find a Chitty Chitty Bang Bang kit and does anyone know if there will ever be a re-release of the old one?

WoW, I guess i will never fullfill my dream of owning Chitty unless i scratch build one myself, lol.

Aurora put the kit out originally about the same time as the Beverley Hillbillies original release. I wonder if the molds are still in existance at this point.

Thanks bro!
I have been watching and saw one a few weeks ago that sold for like $130.00 bucks.
I bid on a Corgi version today but it didn't take long to get outbid. I am not a die-cast fan at all anyway, so.......

I see the Beverley Hillbillies truck is going to be re-released so we can only hope that Monogram or Polar Lights may do the same with CCBB (not sure which might still have the molds). But don't hold your breath. I suggest anybody interested in this kit write these companies a sweet and enquiring letter.
You can never have enough kits nor enough time to build them.

From what i understand, the Aurora molds are no longer available which means a whole new tooling will be needed. I don't see it happening with a new release, but i do hope i am wrong about that.

Maybe i'll just sculpt one, lol.
