Australian Valiant Charger ( or ANY Australian car 1:24/5 ??)
Posted by Spencer Mopar Fan on Thursday, August 31, 2017 9:31 PM

I have the urge to build something different Surprise

I have always liked the 'Ausie Charger' , in England there are some nice 1:1 examples , and the steerings on the correct side !

(My dad had 2 '68 Barracudas built in South Africa with R.H.D. ! Great fun fitting  the headers!)

I am curious to see if there were / are any 1:24 kits available . I would even like to see a Holden or Ford ( Falcon XB " Mad Max " ? ) '50's to 70's ...

I've only recently found out through Hot Wheels Release that theres a Brazilian Charger ... that looks very Dart like to me . Huh? ( At least they never called it a Demon ....Devil

I think the closest you'll find are a couple pre-bilt resins in 1/43rd scale. I beleive a company from Germany called NEO makes them. I could be wrong though, there might be a resin maker out there.

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

On the bench... somewhere. Pink Panther show car, 1978 Dodge Magnum Charger Daytona Midnight edition SE 300. Mongrel T.

I'm sure you'll be pleased with the products from The Parts Box, whether a full kit or some bits like wheels and turbos etc.  They have been mentioned in blogs on this site a few times, when other builders have used some of their parts on some models.  Cheers

There was a 1/25 scale resin body for the Valiant Charger (aussie charger) that was on ebay a couple of years back. it was thick and horrible and messy. I ended up modifying it into the Vermin Charger from Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior. After that, i splurged and bought a 1/24 Diecast Charger from TRAX (www.topgear.com.au) as the only accurate charger in that scale. Yes, it's a sad state, but no big market means nothing gets made for us.

Ripper ! LOL  Cheers A.M.308!

I think I might get one of these ( *EDIT* 'kin 'ell ! how much ?! maybe not eh ...)

and that 76 front grille - new to me , not as nice as the original I think .

both of yours look great BTW .

I also liked the 'tank track' one in Fury Road .... and Charlize..... Angel

. Wish me luck finding a "1968 318 South African Valiant Barracuda RHD" , my dad had TWO 1:1's here in the UK .

yeah, i was thinking of getting the diecast fast&furious ripper to make the Fury Road tracker.

apart from RHD, is the SA barracuda any different to the usa version?

Years ago I bought Holden Torana kit from them. Great service.

(BTW, I can also give a "thumbs up" for The Parts Box.)
