AMT produced a ‘65 Malibu SS promo, and a simplified kit was made available from the promo tooling. I have one, so I can verify that it does exist. They are hard to come by, and usually cost a small fortune on the online auction sites...

I believe the AMT AWB '65 Chevelle was actually a SS model.  The only other option is to modify the Revell offering, which I plan on doing in order to model my '65 SS.

I build models because I can't afford the real thing!

I have the Revell Chevelle SS396 Z-16 kit somewhere in my stash if that's what you mean?

The Z-16 is based on the Chevelle 300 trim level around the taillight area and does not match an SS.  It can be reworked, but is rather finicky and a bit difficult.
