Firebird or Camaro Window Louvers?
Posted by spencer1984 on Monday, March 12, 2018 10:23 PM

Was there ever a kit, diecast, or aftermarket source for rear window louvers for either a 1/24 or 1/25 third-gen (1982-92) Camaro/Firebird?

I'm thinking that one of the MPC kits came with the rear window louvers. I have an AMT 92 IROC that I can check. The MPC Corvettes of that era had rear window louvers for sure. I would think they would have put them in the Camaro and Firebird also. I know they did custom versions of both.

Bill, I have a set of window louvers from an MPC/AMT C4 Corvette.  They don't look like the louvers for a '82/'92 Camaro or Firebird, but they are yours if you want them.

Thanks, guys! I have a few of the Corvette louvers (a bit of an overindulgence back when those kits were $2-$5 each). Unfortunately, they're different enough from the F-body glass that they need so much work to adapt it's practically scratchbuilding. MPC's Cavaliers also had a set, but they were just flat rather than wraparound. I have yet to find a set that'll work, but I'm hoping they're out there in a kit that I missed.

Anything you find would be appreciated, even if it's just a particular kit for me to keep an eye out for at swap meets and such.
