The Houston Automotive Modeler’s Society (HAMS) invites you to our Twelfth Annual Model Car Show and Contest on July21, 2018. It will be held at Cypress Christian Community Center Forum in Spring, Texas, just north of Houston. We will be presenting 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place awards in 21 categories, plus 5 specialty awards and a Best-In-Show trophy. This year’s contest theme is “75 Years of Revell”.  Vendor tables and trophy sponsorships are still available.

For those of you who have attended previous shows, although at the same location, the show will be held in the Forum building this year, which is next to the Annex, where previous shows were held.

For more information, including downloadable flyer & entry forms, please see our web site at:

Thought I'd give this a bump since we are less than a month out from the show.

I've been eye ballin' this show for the last three months since I managed to miss the Modelmania show. Man I was bummed out about that. Really looking forward to the opportunity to go to this one.

I missed Modelmania as well.  I'm seriously thinking of taking the ride for this one.  I haven't been to this HAMS annual since 2012!   Who else is planning on going from this forum!?  I'd enjoy crossing paths and shaking hands with you and others!

I have gone every year for quite a few yeara and hve entered the contest and have enjoyed both the show and the vendor tables. It used to be held on the first weekend in August and I mistakenly thought they had moved it back to the last weekend in July. Then my wife planned vacation with the grandkids for the third week of July including the weekend. Since I'm so stupid, I can't change the plans now, so I will be unable to attend. But I hope as many of those who can attend will as it is a great show! Take as many models as you can and enter to support the club!

If you cannot have a good time, what kinda time can you have? JR

Next on the bench:  Another 1970 Hemi 'Cuda, 1958 Chevy Impala, 1987 Buick GNX, 1950 Chevy Pick-up, Indy Reynard, 1965 Corvette, probably not in this order.

Sorry about always changing the date each year, but we are at the mercy of the IPMS-Nationals. We can't be on the same weekend, so we try and stay 1-2 weeks before or after the Nationals, and their date changes every year. And, as we learned last year, we also need to stay off of the Texas Sale Tax Free Day.

Due to unrelated circumstances, our vacation with the grandkids has been scrubbed. The kids will still go and I am now able to attend the Houston Automotive Modelers contest. Hopefully, Grandma will recover fine! So see ya there!

I am here in Houston on business this week and had I checked the events, I would have stayed over and gone to the show. Hope someone shares some photos!

We will have a photobooth with photographer set up. We hope that every entrant will bring their models by to be photographed. (These will also be the official photos sent to SA for the contest annual.)

Jeez! Looks like I'm not going to be able to make it. Man I'll tell ya. Every time I get lined up for one of these shows something gets thrown in front of it and I miss yet another opportunity. I've been trying for 3 friggin' years now to get back to a show, and there are 4 per year that are within reaching distance, and every single time something comes up. I know I'm going on a bit of a rant but I'd like to make at least ONE show anyways. I'll set my sights on the show in Austin coming up in I think October. Hopefully I can make that one. Hope you all who are going have a good time.
