We've looked into it and continue to look at options. Just be patient, it'll come.

I thoroughly enjoy Scale Auto magazine (been reading/subscibing for over 25yrs.) and the forum. There are alot of talented buiders out there. That being said, I also enjoy the other magazine and forum. These are the only two publications out there and I look forward to both. I have a passion for this hobby and have been building for over 50+ years. Anything out there to perpetuate the hobby and bring new blood into it the better. I wish sucess to both magazines/forums.

Any truth to the rumor that Scale Auto is merging with MCM and re-naming the mag "Scale Model Cars Magazine".....

OH my, it's on social media, it HAS to be true. I think Robbys response above clarifies it.

Yea but social media is "everything".....Stick out tongue

We engage with our readers and fans via social media primarily for a few reasons.

-there's much more traffic, buzz, and activity on there

-there's more of a following and interaction on social media

-it's easier, more reliable, quicker and allows us to do much more than on the forum

-it's mobile-friendly, meaning I can easily and quickly take a photo of a model on my phone and upload it to our Facebook page instantly

-there's more two-way interaction on social channels than on the forum

-the forum isn't neglected, we're trying hard to monitor it frequently and clean up the spam, trust me on that.

Also you don't need a social media account to engage with us on Facebook, our Facebook page is open for anyone, whether they use Facebook or not, to see what we post! This forum is important to us, but I don't have the time to sit on it all day.

And that is a sad indictment. Forums are the only social media I use. No interest in opening up my life to the entire nosey world. A person should have some privacy.

I agree, with the current events with "social media" I think the forums are much safer, many on here shied away from pinterest after fotobucket dumped everyone, in light of privacy issues, well apparently you will not have to worry about privacy on fb as it seems there is little to no privacy. Plus those in control of fb can lock you out of your account for whatever reason they feel justifies it and you will not be able to retrieve ANYTHING. FB forgot it was a social media and now they want as much as a bank does to open an account!!! As more comes out about "social media" a lot are leaving, so there may be an uptick in forum acitivty? Just my My 2 Cents worth

Facebook comes out today and says facebook users will have to $$PAY$$ to opt out for them to NOT share your privacy data!!! Otherwise signing up you will lose your right to privacy...

Well that's okay with me as I've never been on facebook and don't see any need to do so. And yes I may be a bit "old fashioned."

Looks like this thread has gone way off track a bit. Getting back to subject, Model Cars Magazine still appears to have problems with subscriber deliveries since in essence now being run as a one man band trying to be jack of all trades without the support of an established publishing company. If it keeps up unfortunately their present subscribers eventually will early drift away. I don't know what their subscribers religion is, but I admire their faith up to now. At least subscribers to Scale Auto can have the confidence in Kalmbach's stability as a seasoned model magazine publisher to get publications out on time.

This thread seems to have drifted to a discussion about social media......What can be said?........Too much information at risk?  Not against the use of Facebook, Twitter etc. But surprised by the naivety of many users as to the shed loads of personal information they willingly put onto these sites and therefore ripe for harvesting by dubious sources.

What amazes me is Scale Auto Magazine (which I just started subscribing too) seems to have the better magazine IMO but Model Car Magazine's forum is on fire compared to this one.  There are hundreds, if not thousands of posts there everyday and here only a handful.

As far as this magazine, I checked them both out and thought this one looked the best.  Just got my first issue in the mail last week (June I believe) but I could have sworn when I subscribed, they said I would receive April as a free gift?  Hopefully it is on its way.

While the Model Cars Magazine Forum is quite active, it is no where near as active as you say. Spotlight Hobbies Message Board is VERY active and has 'bout a hundred or more posts per day, but I don't see that on the MCM Forum. This forum was a lot more active when I first joined, but several people have left for unkown reasons. No need to have guns on this forum either, however it doesn't seem to bother our new editor at all.

If you're referring to a certain forum member's signature then yes, it does not bother us because it is not offensive or inappropriate. If the image was offending multiple people, showed crude language or violence, then yes, that would be one thing.

Seeig that members gun photos does not bother me at all. Some of us have served our country using them. Guns don't kill. Stupid ignorant people do.

Oh no!

We have guns on the Forum!

Seriously, if it's censorship to that degree that you want on this forum, my sense is that you will wind up with even fewer participants here than you have now.

I have no problem with guns or almost anything else. What bothers me is people who have sigs containing one or more large pics. Nothing will get me to dump a thread faster than seeing someone post one or two lines of text followed by a screen and a half of sig. typically these people like to post a lot and I really won't put up with scrolling through endless sigs looking for the text. I won't even read threads if they started by certain people who do this.

I'd like to see a cap on how much vertical space a sig can occupy.

I agree with everything except the last sentence.

A cap would be just another form of censorship.
