Farewell to America's greatest clown :(
Posted by 195X on Sunday, August 20, 2017 1:00 PM

I have just learned that my comedy hero, the Nutty Professor himself, Jerry Lewis has passed. I am devastated.

I know this isn't exactly car related, although many custom cars appeared in his movies. Please feel free to post photos of any of them.

I know some of you dislike Jerry, but please, keep the vitriol out of this thread. I'm already hurting enough. :(

My favorite color is clear. I am also ambidexterous, I can screw up equally well with either hand. I am 53 years old and been building for most of that time. :)

I can remember some of the the old Jerry Lewis movies when he appeared with 'Dino', Dean Martin, and some of the sight gags. I think it may have been in a movie 'The Bellboy' where he was told that the trunk holding the luggage is always at the back of the vehicle. A VW beetle pulls up, so you can guess the rest!

That was "The Bellboy", a monumental film. What he was told was, to get everything out of the trunk. So he removed the Beetle engine because to him, that was the trunk. What he handed over to the "guest" by the way, was an actual, used, greasy VW engine and not a prop engine. It turns out they weigh about 70 pounds.

Very sad to here of Jerry Lewis passing, I can remember growing up seeing the Black and White and later color movies with Jerry in them, as well as around this time of year the MD Telethons and how much he poured out in Love Kindness Compassion for all of Jerry's Kids starting in 1966 , The world needs more like him. Godspeed Jerry Lewis you will be missed.

The wife just told me earlier. The movie bit that sticks in my head is when he was deepsea fishing and the fish spears him through the chest. God speed jerry.

"Hook, Line and Sinker" was the film.

Jerry Lewis was and always be one of the funniest men the world has ever produced. I grew up laughing at him and still do. I also cryed with him every Labor day. My admiration for him is beyond measure, But Red Skelton was the worlds greatest clown. RIP Mr. Lewis, I am a better person because of you and your heart!

Sadly, I never got to meet him in person. I grew up on his films, especially all the ones made with Deano.
