jEEBS5150

Wagonguy1989 I would def be interested in buying model stuff like scale wires, paint, tools etc.Where are you thinking of opening a shop at?Im in Tehachapi so TNR aside from the internet was the only place to go.

honestly no shop yet, i would just be selling the stuff from my house, basically by word of mouth...

i can ship or deliver too lol, im also looking at making new age coil and coil packs (OEM and aftermarket) and casting them, also some hoods ( camaro L72 hood style for 69 firebird for example) maybe even little things like optima batteries, speakers, prewired distributors etc...

just gotta get a big enough interest in that in order to start...

sucks to hear that a hobby shop is closing, we need these around! especially in this area, were limited to hobby lobby, (which i love) but the prices are a lil high for my taste (even on sale items) and they dont carry EVERYTHING were looking for...

so basically im looking into opening a small hobby shop  im located close to the Mojave area,(Bakersfield)

if i have a high enough demand for all the fun stuff (wires, paint, tools, kits etc.) then i will open doors, i have been thinking about  this for a while, just need a big enough demand...

i have connections for resin parts too, if my fellow modelers are interested and live in or around Kern county, PM me and we can see if we can make it happen...

Wow, I haven't been to Reno since '78. It's never good when a hobby shop closes its doors, as I've seen several over the past decade. Bad news.

I heard that the owners wife took a job in Reno, and he's closing. Maybe he's gonna reopen there. Sad to see them go...Joe

"Overhead" is a big factor in whether a hobby shop stays open or closes it's doors. It cost money to rent a space, heat & cool it, stock it, man it, etc.

I heard a rumor that TNR in Mojave Ca. is closing! I'm bummed, and will go there tomorrow to see. It's one of the best stocked shops I've ever been to. I was told that their on line business was not a factor in the closing, and they were actually doing very well and sales had nothing to do with the closing!...Joe
