Danbury Mint Die cast
Posted by dimaxion on Friday, March 21, 2014 10:59 AM

I don't if anyone has this information . The other day I received a flier to buy another Mint Model at the Danbury Mint . It is a '35 Ford Coupe . It is a missing link in a '30's Ford String . Stock versions that is . This one is also the last they will offer . The fact is if you understand the ripp-offs going on in China to anyone doing business there . Especially to US Corporations s you see the Irony .  It took the Chinese to show US Corps , you get what you pay for . What goes around , comes around . I wonder what the US Armed Services will do for Hummers . This business was sold to the Chinese too ?  Yup !   Thanx ..

sounds good. will be worth looking for them.

i've heard of diecast companies that have 'lost' molds and dies in China, only for cheap knock-offs to turn up later. apparently there's not good protection for foreign companies if you do business there. Maybe they should move production somewhere closer to home?

Yes , once the Chinese produce anything for you , you are a looser . All manufacturing rights , copyrights , design , Tooling , dies , production machines and all other propriety belongs to the people's Republic of China . Yet this is another piece of this Horror Story our Government promoted our Corporations to jump into business with . Reducing Labor Costs and Taxes does come with a price . Dies Disappearing is just  status quoit . Corporate Guppies in pursuit blindly at full charge get what they pay for . They cannot make the Beryllium (spelling ?) Steel as well as we can . This is what the dies are made of . Then there is the Farming out to make room for more business in the Factories . Cottage Industries take over the Production at a lesser quality & quantity .  BTW , this farming out process continues with every complaint from the Buyers of this stuff . I do not feel bad for the Corporations , just us the consumer . This process has continued since day one with this Trading partner . The name indicates co-operation . .. lol ..

   Thanx ..

This is why I worry about AMT and Revell.

I think if  either one decided to move production to somewhere else they would have a hard time getting their molds out of China.

I'll never understand why we we let our jobs go to China.THEY ARE NOT OUR FRIENDS.

I don't worry 'bout Round 2 or Revell, as I have enough plastic for my lifetime. As for Danbury Mint, I got the flyer for the '35 Ford Deluxe Coupe and if you read CAREFULLY, it says that it is the final "brand-new" 1:24 scale precision replica. That means no "new" tooling. Soooo, I wouldn't be surprised if at one time or another that the Danbury Mints were re-issued. Then again, they might be gone for good. Either way, it's not gonna change my life one bit.
