I have a good friend that has a very nicely preserved 1969 Ford Custom Pursuit. I'm waiting to get some good chassis shots so that I can get back to work on it. This one has turned into a major project, but I want to get it done sometime before the cows come home.

COLORFUL CRATERS!

I sprayed some Filler/Primer over the Base.

Then I applied a coat of white acrylic.

I started painting the Base to look like the Moon, but I couldn't get it to look right so I tried some more Earthy Colors...

I am trying to keep this Factory Stock as much as possible and as much as my skills and finances will let me. The Consumer Guide to Tri-five Chevys indicates that the 210 interior cam in Starfrost vinyl and charcoal gray, dark green or dark blue pattern cloth. The Delray came in the same colors except vinyl and the light color was Ivory. I am not going to change the Ivory to Starfrost which is a darker beige color. But I did try a dar green on the rear seat. I think this will look alright and i can dull it down a bit with dullcote.

Here's my question for all of you: It looks like the 210s I've seen on the internet (although I haven't been able to find a Pinecrest green exterior with green interior) have the dash matching the interior instead of the exterior color. The Bel Airs have the interiors matching the exteriors but not so on the 210s it appears.

Dark green for the Dash and Steering wheel and column? Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for looking!

It shouldn't, if anything it will help smooth it out just a bit. Just remember to pay attention to the recoat window with the particular paint you are using, or else it may cause wrinkling. Paint begins to dry at different rates over time, so when you spray a new coat on, the original paint must be either completely dry or have been sprayed very recently.

Good job. Here's a photo I took of that car in 1973. I saw it become the first eight second pro stock in a match race with Grumpy Jenkins. As you can see you captured the car perfectly. Good job!

This is an enhanced kit by Tamiya including PE parts and belts. I used Eduard belts instead of the kit belts. Color is TS55 Tamiya dark blue, 3 part clear; the decals look like a nightmare (and I'm sure they're the reason I bought the kit at a show for only $10, LOL) but weren't a problem at all; in fact they were among the best I've used. A great kit; Tamiya car kits are fun.
