Will be 70 in April '17. Semi-retired Texas architect. Built models in my youth, mainly cars but other things as well. Years ago I got reinterested in model cars with the idea of building replicas of the cars I have had through the years when I saw the kits of the '66 442 and '70 Z28 , two 1:1 cars I had owned in the past, side by side (serendipity?) while passing by the shelves of either a Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby, I forget which. I subscribed to Scale Auto and another model car magazine and found Hobby Heaven's message board through an advertisement (it is now Spotlight Hobbies' message board). I was active on it for several years but life got in the way of anything more than collecting kits, etc. Life got in the way so much so that I dropped out for a lot of years when I moved into a small house and some stuff, including my "stash", had to go into boxes in a storage unit. I recently got reinterested in the hobby and now hope to make space for, and find the time and gumption to follow through on my old intention to build those replicas of a '61 Chevy BelAir 4 door flattop, '66 442, '64 Corvette coupe, '70 Z28, '84 Z28, '96 WS6 Formula Firebird, and '06 GTO. See my profile on the SH message board if you are interested in more details about them. And yes, as a one car guy I have tried to get the best performance cars I could afford (some used, some new) and driven each of the later ones for 10 years or more, lol.
