I have been building models since I was 7-years old in 1955.  Started with a Revel MG TD and Ford hot rod... Mom helped... painted the TD interior with nail polish that wrinkled and looked like leather.... discovered my dad's files and soon was nosing and decking my AMT promos, I think my first was a 1955 Dodge...  Thought I died and went to heaven when AMT brought out the 3 'n 1 customizing kits in 1958, first one a 1958 Buick, low, skirts, spinners and made my own Continental kit......  Nirvana achieved again when the AMT 32 Ford kit was released and again when the 40 coupe was offered.  When I was about 14, my Dad bought a toy & hobby store in suburban San Francisco and I took over the model department....  Built a number of the models I still have today between 1963 and 1977....  after college, I worked in radio and TV as a DJ and audio engineer, taught at San Francisco State,  then produced the public appearances of the "Banana Splits" kids TV show in California...  Moved to Los Angeles in 1990 and continued in voice over work and started to write about cars for magazines.  Owned over 100 full-sized cars, specializing in Morris, MG and Rileys (British) and favored Chevys,(Novas, Malibu & El Caminos) Buicks and old flathead MoPars...  Stopped building and collected some diecast Danbury cars and started to customize some of the cheaper 1/25th scale diecasts....  dug out some of my old unfinished kits, and here I am today

Best,

Rick
