About ModelsByMas

Hello Race Fans of All Shapes and Sizes!

My name is Tom Douglas, I am a partially disabled 58-year-old retired Computer Repair & Quality Control Technician.
I have been happily married since 1972. I have two kids, my son is 39 and my daughter is, well I think she'd want me to say she is 29.
My hobbies are, repairing computers, computer graphics & Web Site Publication, Model Building, Air Brushing; I also love Auto Racing, Large and Small scales but I love the NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car Classes the most.
I bought my first real car, a 1957, Ford Wagon at 15. Since then, besides the newest car, Special vehicles I've owned are, a 1947, Chevrolet Fleet-master, a 1942 Harley Davidson WLA motorcycle, a 30 foot 1957, Mashtare Hueneme Six Pack Fishing Vessel, a 1959 Chrysler Saratga Lowrider, a 1961 & 1965 Chevrolet Pickup trucks, a 1962 Chevrolet Corvair, & a 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer Lowrider. Now I have a Dodge Neon. (Duh) LOL
In the mid 1990's I had the pleasure of graduating from the Jim Hall School of Racing, and then went on to become a member of the International Karting Federation, while racing in the Yamaha KT100 Class driving a ProLine Racing Kart. I raced in the Karts until a friend I raced with in both, Radio Control & Kart Racing had a heart attack on the long straight at the Riverside Kart track and lost his life; from then on, Kart Racing just didn't seem the same so I then went on to race my final years of Radio Control Auto Racing with my 1:5th Scale Expert Super Touring Car until winning the "C Main" at the 2004 ROAR 1:5th Scale National Championships when I found out that my transmitter hand would go numb in the longer races and decided to retire.
I first started Radio Control Auto Racing with a couple of toy store 1/12th scale cars in 1977 and it was when I bought my first 'real" Radio Control Race Car that I found out I had nitch for driving and could control the car well enough to race in the Professional ranks  starting with a Titan RC100 1/8th Scale Can-Am car, then I went on to race in the Expert 4wheel drive classes around the western United states when I was in my twenties. Since that first race car, I have won numerous RC Championship's and Notable other National Races in both the Expert 1/8th Scale Can-Am Classes, and Expert 1/5th Scale Super Touring Car Class. Now that I have retired from professional RC Racing, I spend hours upon hours helping Test Racing Simulator Software Programs as a Beta Tester & Affiliate Partner for Virtual Racing Industries of the Netherlands and are located at Virtual RC Racing Community at http://www.virtualrc.com. They have just released to the public on September 1, 2011 the NEW Version the Radio Control Simulator that is called, "Virtual RC Professional" or otherwise called VRC-Pro. This NEW Online Community is called "VRC World" and can be accessed at >  http://www.vrcworld.com.
As for music, I like listening to a good guitar player, folk or rock; I like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Iron Butterfly, Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath. As for personal music, when I was grade school I was chosen to sing a duet at Disneyland in California with actor & movie director Kevin Costner as a member of the "Ventura Blue Barret Boys Choir". A photo of Kevin an me can be viewed in "My Personal Photos" at the bottom right corner of this page
Things I love are my wife and kids. I love Sunset's on the Pacific Ocean with my wife. I love my Mother and my family, and I especially love, and miss the friends and Loved one's that are no longer with us. Rest with God.

Thank you for visiting and have good day. :O)
