About model maker

Hello, I started making models when I was 8 years old. My first model car was a AMT 1960 Corvette. My dad put it together. That was in 1960. after that my older brother helped me. When I got into my early teens I decided to quit and destroyed almost all of them. That was to bad because they were first run kits. Looking at these kits some of them are rare and worth a lot to collecters. Back then I din't paint them and that is worth more. I did not make any more untill I was in the Army stationed at Fort Eustis VA. in 1971. There they had a hobbie and crafts shop. The first kit I built then was AMT's Chevy Titan cab over. I still have it with the same paint I used then. My next one was MPC's Mack DM800 and Gravel trailer.  I still have it too though it has been redone a few times. I make models with opening doors, working tandoms, and steering. I have hundreds in storage and looking to sell a lot of them.

Over the years I have built many kits of differant models. From big rigs to small garden tractors and everything in between. My fav. is building big trucks because you have unlimited building options. When building autos I like to make mine factory stock. Like most people I do have slow points in the hobby and take long periods when I do other things.

Another modeling format I enjoy is building differant diaromas. I usually make them so when I tire of them I can easily redo them into something new. At one point I had a large table that filled half the basement. I used Woodland scenes on the whole thing and I got really good at it. One big diorama. I moved since then and right now I do not have any place to do that.
