About DocWatson

Ex Aussy Army SF, Advanced Medic invalided out. *** Parachutes! Moved on to become a Paramedic, then spent some time with a Private Military Company in the Middle East. Asset Protection, Personal Protection and used my Paramedic skills a LOT! Then was an Emergency Nurse (Oh, the shame!) at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. Now sit at home in Aspley Queensland and let Veterans Affairs pay my way, permanent invalid.

Got my interest in cars from my Father, a Hot Rodder since before I was born. I still remember the surprise when as a kid I learned that not everyone had a Hot Rod! Hell everyone we knew did!! Started off with a 59' 100E Prefect, 13b rotary but was never finished (Joined the Army). Then I bought my Fathers Hot Rod, I couldn't stand to see it leave the family, a 1938 Ford Club Coupe, 351 Cleavland, toploader 4 speed and a 9inch rear. That was my daily driver for years. Then I built a 29' A Roadster Pickup, 302W Auto.

Also had a 52 Austin A-40 Devon, 401 Nailhead Gasser. A 71' HG Monaro with a very tough 350/700R4 9inch rear. An XD Falcon, 490hp 351 Clevo, toploader 4 speed, Harrop fabricated 9inch rear(Such a fun car!).

.......And an unknown number of motorbikes both running and basically parts, the most memorable was a Ducati 916 that I eventually traded in on a Ducati 999.

A few years ago I was visiting my parents (Interstate) and it didn't seem right that they no longer had a Hot Rod in the garage. It was always a defining element of my parents, the 'Coupe', everyone knew it. I couldn't live with myself so I made the 38 Coupe a gift to my parents, now life seems right.
