About Classic Plastic
I’ve been building models since the late 50’s. I love anything with wheels and was inspired mostly, to build models, by my late cousin who was about 5 years older than me. I remember saving my allowance up so I could buy models (back then they cost about $2). Mostly cars, they were usually AMT or Monogram kits. I rarely painted with spray cans. Everything was painted by brush. I also collected MatchBox cars and had several HO (Aurora) race car tracks during my youth. I had a Go-Kart when I was 13 and eventually sold that for a Mini Bike (Honda Trail 70). My favorite reading material was/is: CARtoons, DRAGtoons, Hot Rod, Mini Bike Guide and Mad Magazine. I’m a professional photographer and wrote articles for several RC magazines in the 90’s. I’m currently a Mechanical-Electrical Designer in Denver and have two teenage sons (neither of them are interested in cars). Just in the last 3 years I’ve gotten back into the model building hobby. It’s great for taking my mind off work and everyday life. My first car was a 71 Chevy Nova and I’m looking forward to the release of the new Revell 69 Nova. Have fun and enjoy your hobby! Thanks for taking the time to read my Bio. Kevin
