About 68camarodude

To start with, Im a 23 year old college sudent, going to Eastfield college. Im learning how to do body work on real cars, and also taking a streetrod class where Im learning about metal fabrication, and shaping.  As of right now Im working on cars as a hobby in my backyard, Im in the middle of restoring a 1968 Camaro, which has taught me alot so far about cars, patience, and determination. I'm also an artist, just by hobby. I paint, and sketch, mainly car and movie subjects.

I've been building model cars since i was in preschool, when my dad brought home a Ferrari snap together kit which got me into modeling in the first place.  I build a variety of car models, but I mainly focus on classics, hotrods, and muscle cars.

I also build other models besides cars, mainly on WW2 subjects like ships, planes, and trucks. And also post WW2 era millitary models, mainly fighter jets.
I used to have a job building model cars for someone, it paid well, but I didnt have time for my own projects, and school. Durring that time, my fun hobby turned into WORK, which made modeling less fun for me, so a long story short I quit. the job. I enter model contests regularly, just the ones around the Dallas area since thats closer to where I live.

Ive been entering model contests since 1999 when i was in the 5th grade, and the first model I entered that year won 2nd place. That encouraged me to enter more and more contests, and to better my skills.
