About 454chevelle

I built my first scale model, a U.S. fighter jet, for a contest in grade school. I dabbled in various military subjects (primarily WW II U.S. aircraft/ amour) off and on throughout my adolescence. By the time I reached high school my modeling interest turned to cars; to be more specific muscle cars.  By the time I hit college my I lost interest in modeling.  Recently, I was at a newsstand looking for some reading material to keep me entertained on a long business trip when I ran across a copy of Scale Auto magazine. I began to thumbing through it and found myself intrigued by the variety of subject matter as well as the level of detail a number of builders were adding to their modeling projects. I was also surprised to find an “aftermarket industry” had sprung up around the hobby supplying resin parts, photo-etched parts, decals, OEM paints etc. Modeling had come a long way since I left the hobby. This spurred me to locate and visit local hobby shops and the next thing I knew I was back car modeling again. I do still have an interest in WW II aircraft, but; American iron be it Muscle Cars, Street Rods, Street Machines, Pro-Street, Pro-Touring, Pro-Stock and Street Sleepers are my passions! Over the past several years I have visited other forums however, I find Scale Auto forum members advise is informative, the WIP`s interesting, and the completed automotive projects/ dioramas to be some of the best around! It has been many years since I have done any modeling.  So I consider myself new to the hobby.  I absolutely love it and can't wait to learn more techniques to build better quality models.
